The USA has control of its borders - the UK - does not!!

We are part of this new totalitarian state called the EU where we are told that we wont lose our powers - they even tried to make a constitution, which is for countries not continents. I get this feeling there is some guy in a grey suit, in a big black chair stroking a white fluffy cat. They even tried to repackage the constitution as a 'treaty' but everyone know it was just reworded with a different title.

A few years ago people were scared to speak up but since the massive polish influx a lot of people suddenly said "hold on a minute". People are questioning immigration and 'multi-culturalism'. The home office has since admitted that multiculturalism has just divided societies, well they keep saying how they want multi-culturalism and intergration at the same time. Surely they are total opposites, but if our home office didnt f**k something up then people would be concerned and think something was wrong. I dont know what the hell to think anymore, id be happy to move to another country, and not for the bloody money, like they all come here for.

Jules: im sure you love immigrants - they are lining your pockets directly. 'They have a great work ethic' i hear. Great work ethic- they work for bugger all, never take sick days and work really hard. Maybe that is a great work ethic but theres probably 17-18 year olds that could do with a job at that age.

Skullpicker: there are so many reasons why you are seriously wrong. yea we have a lot fo chavs and scum, but they are our chavs and scum. I question why these people come here - money? People are not xenophobic - they are just concerned. I love travelling around the world and experiecing different cultures, are you saying that instead of paying £400 for a plane ticket to india i should just pay £30 for a train ticket to leciester?

Thingy: before you accuse UKIP of being right wing they are the ones opposing the totalitarian ideals of the EU. I thought all you liberals were against massive single state control. My question to you 'thingy' is how many immigrants is to many? 1 million, 10 million, what if over the next 5 years we have 100 million immigrants from eastern europe and africa? im sure you wont be singing the same dangerous liberal tune. Ill probably find you in the BNP party.

Most people are against it but then most people are always against whatever our crap newspapers tell them. When people feel bad about themselves, as many do in this country after the mess the Tories made from 1979 onwards and the failure of Labour to make good most of the damage, they are easy prey to witch-hunting and immigrants are an easy target. But few of the lazy British want the low paid jobs the immigrants take and while there is no doubt that some of them abuse our generous benefits system, many more of them are hard working and help save our economy. Someone's get to pay for all the (British) people on invalidity benefit.

There are lots of people who rape the system, mainly from Asia and Africa.

The poles are all legal, part of the EU, and any Brit would have the right to work in Poland. Most of the Legal immigrants work hard and earn their keep, even if most of the money goes back to their home country. Asylum seekers and illegals aliens are where the problem lies.

Asylum seeker get first options on houses, due to the priority system, this places them in houses before British nationals, not a problem until you relies that a one bedroom flat in a bad part of town sets you back around $200K in most towns. They also get grants, benefits, food and clothing stamps, etc. Most Asylum seeker get slight more than most Nationals seem to be able to get.

After everything that is given to them, and most of them don't work, they still feel the need to complain. Common complaints are that they were in good jobs before they came over and expected the same, wrong type of biscuits given in detention centres, toilets facing the wrong direction in Jails, etc.

Other problems with asylum seekers is that they get priority treatment on the NHS, doctors are turning away people as they fill there books with asylum seekers. The crime rates also increase in areas of high asylum seekers. A chief constable even went public stating that asylum seeker are moving crime waves.

If they come here legally then people have nothing but praise for them, it they come here illegally, refuse to learn the language, complain about the country, increase crime rate, etc then they can all go home.

It's a really complex issue about which many people are not aware of all the facts. I am not saying that I do but I wish British people would look at the bigger picture more.

I am on the whole pleased with the immigration into this country. My husband and I run a restaurant and hotel and many of our staff are immigrants. They work so hard, don't complain or phone in sick because they've got a hangover and are generally invaluable. I think most other companies which offer low wage jobs will tell you their businesses couldn't survive without immigrants. Nowadays there's greater access to higher education, adult learning etc for British people, leaving a definite shortage of indigenous people wanting to work in less desirable jobs. We need immigrants to fill these jobs!

Unfortunately, the politicians of this country see the the immimgrants filling this worker shortage and then disregard the views of ordinary British people when they start harping on about 'sending them all back'.

Immigrants are also great for keeping costs down. For too long British tradesmen have been scamming their customers with over-inflated prices. Now we have competition from diligent foreign workers who charge reasonably and don't expect a slacker break every three hours.

So I guess I could say I feel strongly about immigration - just not the same as most British people.

I think it is a massive issue. Most people think it is out of control. You hear politicians saying the immigrants come in and do the jobs the British will not do. I wish someone would tell me what these jobs are as I have been out of work for nearly two years and despite applying for over 100 jobs no-one seems interested. Workmen such as plumbers and bricklayers are being laid off because people such as the Poles will do the job for a cheaper rate of pay. I actually clicked on a job advertisement quite recently and it was in Polish! The pressure being put on housing, schools and hospitals is horrendous and cannot be sustained. Immigrants are claiming benefit for children and dependents who do not even live in this country. I think the general consensus of opinion is that immigrants get what they want whereas the British are often ignored. I have heard so many people say "whose country is this now". Of course one of the big problems is that we cannot stop people coming in from the EU countries. My wife works as a teacher in an inner city school and her colleague in nursery tells her that many of the incoming children cannot speak a single word of English. This puts a huge pressure on the teachers and I do not believe that children who cannot speak basic English should be allowed to start school and their parents should be forced to teach them the language or pay privately for lessons.

Is this question placed by a person living in the UK surely it cannot be?. The immigration subject is the main one in peoples minds and the most talked about, despite officials saying it isn't. No matter how this immigration is covered up, rest assured it will come back to bite us. And that is not too far away.

It is an invasion, if we complain we are accused of being racist and laws which were designed to prevent racial hatred are used to prosecute people who protest the influx of foreigners. 60% of all jobs which are made available go to foreigners because when you come from a country where there is no safety net for unemployed or where £20 a month is common, minimum wage or even less than that is attractive and the so called "Entrepreneurs" are happy with the situation because more profits for them.

Well, this came out today. No clue about the polling company...

http://www.horncastlenews.co.uk/latest-national-news/Public-want-less-immigration-.3468996.jp

"The latest study found 85% of people thought that immigration was putting too much pressure on public services, with only 10% disagreeing.

Some 81% supported the view that the level of immigration should be reduced substantially, while 14% rejected it.

When asked if they believed immigration had been generally positive for the UK economy, 35% said it had compared to 54% who thought it had not."

i think most people 'like me' would say they dont mind immigration at all, its a good thing to have a steady flow of people following available work. what the labour party have done wrong is, they have given immigrants priority over the indigenous population and allowed them a strangle hold over the people of this country. they should not be entitled to social housing, free health care, social security housing benefit or !!!to gather into comunities. these things are the cause of most of the resentment amoung the indigenous people of Briton. but mindless idiots with an axe to grind have turned all critticism into accusations of racism and silenced the people....BAD MOVE....because it sits and festers untill it all blows up in your face. especialy when social housing free health care and social security housing benefit etc, are given to Muslims that are then preaching hatred and poison towards us on our own streets. its not hard to see what is realy irritating the people of this country. and it must be obviouse to the labour party that they will be voted out because of it....so...why arnt they addressing the issue???

I do not know about the UK, I live in US, but I can say this. Some one needs to get a handle on the situation before it gets way out of hand like it has here.
