what do you mean let them lay eggs? if you dont want to breed with them, dont give them a nest box and put in a wire floor this should discourage them from trying to lay eggs, you dont want them to lay eggs all the time as this can be detremental to the bird, as they arent like chickens! if you do want to breed them then i would do some research first, as you have to be prepared for handraising the chicks yourself, if the parents dont take care of them or abandom them, if you arent prepared to do this, then dont breed them! but if you are, i would try and contact a local bird breeder they can help you seting up your birds, and make suer you have all the right equipment!

A proven female needs a lot of rest after laying a clutch of eggs. Breeding your cockatiels 3 times a year with a 4 month rest is good. Don't forget to add vitamins ( Prime or LM Animal Farms) to your birds diet.

With very very good care, 2-3 clutches a year should be plenty, with rests in between. Some birds will want to lay more, but it's not a good idea to let them continually lay eggs and raise the clutch, it's just too much on their bodies and they could easily get sick.

Its not about letting them lay eggs. They are mates for life. You cant split them up once they have mated. Dont worry about how many times they lay eggs.
