Look BEYOND the question. It's more than just nonsense but you have to let go of whatever is preventing you from really seeing the point.

Why bother posting a useless question?

According to some major statistics: it lowers blood pressure and eases the mind. I think what you are searching for is an answer. Why not just an ease of mind? I enjoy running sometimes. My thoughts are rampid and I can concentrate on my life and things around me. I question my religion also and do not attend church. I have questioned the existance of some 'higher being', but what puts me into a calm state is solitute and thinking about life and things -- similar to praying -- only I am not praying to anything/anyone in particular. (No sense -- huh?) I feel at ease and calmer and in the end happier too.
Did you know that there is such a thing as runner's high? :)
Did I help? I hope so!
Good Luck!

Last I checked, atheists don't pray. Praying as an atheist would be completely useless. You're pretty much talking to yourself.

~~EDIT~~
Instead of telling us to "look beyond the question", why don't you just ask what you're really trying to ask? Pretend we're all stupid.

Pray away no bother here, I am undecided as to whether or not God does really exist. How can you believe in something you can't see or touch, kinda like Santa Claus

Solly, even coming from you that makes no sense at all.

Should I answer with the wisdom of a fool?

Doing nothing is still doing something.

If I do pray to nothing, then at least it is a silent prayer.

Edit:
Toadally gives the best of answers.

Nothing can surpass the foolishness of a wise man.

When there is Nothing to pray to, there is also Nothing to fear.

Prayer is a proven waste of time. Ask the hostages who were beheaded in Iraq

It isn't much trouble to pray to nothing. It's more trouble not to.
