Well at this point he may be no better than Bob Sapp. But Bas Rutten will make him a decent fighter. If you watched his street fights closely, he had some boxing skills. And packed a hell of a wallop. And if you watched the Mercer vs Kimbo fight he implemented knees and choked out Mercer. So I think he is learning MMA to a degree. But its a wait and see how he does against a wrestler or a Jui Jitsu guy. But in either case alot of people will watch him fight simply because of the KO factor. Fans and detractors alike will tune in to see him get beat or knock someone out. He brings excitement. So to answer your question the answer is "E" All of the above. At least for now. He is a work in progress. Will he be a masterpiece or complete flop? Only time will tell.

Too early to tell.

He's only had one profesional fight (against Bo Cantrell), and it's rumored that Bo took a dive, he tapped out as he was landing on the floor, after being hit on the armpit by an uppercut, and being grazed by an elbow.

Before that Kimbo had an amateur fight against a washed up boxer who's over 40 years old and had no ground game, this fight also was not a test so can't count it.

The fact that he trains with Bas Rutten counts, and Bas says Kimbo trains seriously, there's also no doubt Kimbo is strong.

Time will tell how he'll do.

Impressive looking and seems to have some good punching power. Rutten will get him ready and if he has some ground and pound skills he could be a tough, dangerous, opponent fo a lot of fighters. Fighters like him are almost always dangerous because of this and they always have the potential that they might get lucky and land that one big shot that will put anyone down.

I think any of the heavyweights will take him seriously and try to captialize on his weaknesses and avoid his obvious strengths and not want to mess around with him by trying to stand up and trade with him just for this reason.

Option E. A strong and athletic guy, with probably world class genetics, but starting late.

Not so much a matter of him being 'exposed' since he started in the street fighting bums:)
and his boxing style was very beginner level. Arms like chicken wings-stomach exposed, poor rotation on shoulders and hips-wastes most of his power.

He is a big deal and novelty only for the average kid who 'saw a bad guy on youtube'

For the rest of us the question is can he actually learn enough about real fighting to make it to a decent level.

he might-I think he might have left it a bit late in life myself, but we'll see.

B, he is for sure a novelty, Though he might hit like a brick i don't think that he can take a good punch, he has a weak chin actually. Plus at his age to just now be learning about a ground game he will probably be able to win another one in his career but i think he will quickly learn what it's light to fight a true mma fighter.

He is freakishly ugy , the kind of ugly that just makes you want to hate him!
muscular , dumb , not better than tank abbott , good stand up game, fake ( he changes his persona , depending on what audince he is talking to , tank is just tank no matter who he is talkin too)
I used to like bass rutten but scew that guy for bringing more street trash to the mma world , its hard enough to protect mixed martial arts image , with out having some guy in there who says
"I fight to get that bread" while he is wearing a giant gold chain , gold watch , and gold grill. give me a break.

he is a very entertaining street fighter but i cant see him being any more than a Tank Abbott or like you said Bob Sapp however he might have a future under Ruttens wing.

D. I guess I can't really judge his talent since he has yet to have a fight with someone who tries.
