No idea. Unless perhaps it is the reverse opposites rule. That would be that opposites repulse on another. Or perhaps its that the one is always trying to convince the other (with ridiculous amounts of self righteousness)of the validity of their their logic and perspective. Here is an interesting concept, that there is room for all and tolerance is in everyone's best interest. Personally when the Atheist can convince me they have something I want I'll convert.

I'm not an atheist, but I have many close friends and a few relatives who are.

They do NOT hate Christianity. They simply reject faith ()that is, believing in something for which there is no objective evidence) as a basis for living a rational life and for developing a sound system of ethics--of right and wrong.

Too many believers of all religions mistakenly think that one must believe in a God, Creator or supernatural being in order to have an objective system of morality.

However, many athiests argue that the value of the individual human life is the highest value, and that it is the value of human life which is the basis for all objective concepts of right and wrong. Ayn Rand--one of the 20th century's most famous MORAL philosophers--was an athiest, and proved that a universal, objective system of ethics was possible based on reason alone, without any need for belief in God.

If God is truly just, and if He is to judge all, then He must have supplied all human beings with something, inherent in their very nature, that allows them to discover right and wrong. I believe that this something is human reason---not faith.

Atheist does not want someone to invade their life. They do not want to have God, creation, society and people because they hated themselves and why they were created.

They like to appear that everything is fine so as to eliminate or diminish that self-pity and hatred. The mind and inner self working within eliminating God in their sphere of life and thinking that everything is okay to live by. That's why they do not want to talk about God because they are themselves hidden in some sort of imagination, ideas and fear that they will expose themselves about their weaknesses and fears. Psychologists point this as an "escape goat" mode of existence.

Read the Bible in Romans 1: 18-32.

I'm atheist and don't hate Christianity. In fact I think it's a beautiful thing, but after scrutinizing my faith through the lenses of psychology, philosophy, history, and science I was forced to abandon it.

I don't think Atheists hate Christians, but rather hate having the Christian doctrine shoved down their throats. There's a big difference.

We don't hate Christianity. I personally don't care what anyone believes as long as they don't go around ignoring reality. If you think the god of Christianity is interesting then it's up to you to prove there is something to be interested in. If not then you should just keep it to yourself. Imagine if I went around telling people how Santa Brings me gifts if I behave. I mean if I really thought that was true of course people would laugh at me. Well we laugh at you for the same reasons. It's not your faults though.

i does no longer circulate so a approaches as to assert that Christianity *hates* atheism. in spite of the undeniable fact that I even have are available in the time of many Christians who do no longer in elementary terms like the undeniable fact that atheists question their ideals.

Seriously? You seem to forget that not so long ago (and even now in some places) being an atheist and telling anyone meant at the very least being viewed as a vile and despicable person; and at worst being burned alive.

food for thought...
