Would any of my fellow belivers like to give me evidence of God EVER calling a believer a sinner? God gives several distinctions between righteous people and sinners. For instance, "But go and learn what this means; 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." (Matthew 9:13) "If the righteous receive their due on earth, how much more the ungodly and the sinner!" (Proverbs 11:31) "You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness." (Romans 6:18) I could continue, but my point is, if the Bible says we have been set free from sin, God calls us RIGHTEOUS and not sinners, then why do many christians say that they are still sinners. Can you provide biblical proof? And not proof that christians occasionally sin, because I know we occasionally do. I'm talking of actual biblical proof that born again Christians still have the title of 'sinner' even after our conversion.

Paulcyp, I believe you are referring to Romans 3:23 which says 'All HAVE sinned and fall short of the glory of God'. It uses sin in the past tense. It never says we are sinners. Read the entire 3rd chapter of Romans and you'll see that it actually discusses righteousness, not sin. And I never said I don't sin. I'm saying I no longer have the title of 'sinner'. There is a BIG difference. (Still waiting on the Bible verses that show God calling a righteous man a sinner)

Yes brother! Yes!
We are dead to sin.
We are dead to the law.
We put on Christ's righteousness though faith.
Not by our own actions.
We are free.
Those who live under the yoke of the law tempt god to wrath.(acts 8,10)
I'm so glad to see another brother out there that believes the good news.
Keep up the work, it brings joy to my heart whenever I see another believer preaching the "Good News"

Some Christians are still sinners. It takes time to change. Did you know if you lust after a man or woman you commit adultry? That is a commandment that could be easily broken by some Christians.
SO are you saying since Jesus died on the cross for our sins that it is ok to sin?
Don't forget, Jesus also said "Go and sin no more"

1 John says if we say we have no sin then we make God to be a liar and the truth is not in us.
God takes sinners and declares them righteous. They still sin, otherwise there'd be no reason for them to every confess their sins and ask forgiveness. They're positionally righteous but not necessarily practically righteous. That is, they are legally recognized as righteous but they haven't necessarily achieved it.
Similarly, we say we are "redeemed" but until the second coming we're not completely redeemed. We have the promise of redemption but not the full achievement of it.

All the hardcore Christians I know admit to being sinners. Christians, Jews, and Muslims believe in original sin, that can be forgiven but not removed.

Preach it brother. Once we are saved we become the saints of God, the righteousness of Christ. I think many Christians say that trying to appear falsely humble. We are the sons and the daughters of the most high God who will one day rule and reign with Christ. We are not sinners, to say that is to negate the power of the blood that Jesus shed for us. Once you accept Jesus your sins are forgiven you, and though you may occasionally sin the blood of Christ continues to atone for your sin. He does not have to keep going to the cross. Once you have given him your life you become sealed till the day of redemption.
2 Corinthians 1:21-22 (New King James Version)
21 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, 22 who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
Ephesians 1:13-14 (New King James Version)
13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who[a] is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

The Bible says ALL men are sinners and fall short of the glory of God. Are you seriously claiming that you don't sin??

Everyone sins. To say you don't sin is to say you're perfect, and the only perfect being there ever was was Jesus. That's what repentance is for. And I believe we start being held accountable about the age of 8.

WE ARE BORN WITH OUR NATURAL SIN, THAT IS WHAT ADAM & EVE DID. TO GET RID OF THAT WE HAVE TO GET BAPTISED & WE BECOME CHRISTAINS. AFTER BECOMING CHRISTAINS & WE SIN, WE BECOME SINNERS.
IF WE SAY WE ARE NOT SINNERS, THAT ITSELF IS A SIN.
JESUS WRITS ON THE GROUND, THOUSE WHO HAS NOT SINNED CAN THROW THE FIRST STONE ON THE PROSTITUTE.
