Believe it or not when you do exercise it takes fat from all over your body. When you do a specific exercise (like lifting weights) it tones the muscle in that area. A good way to loose weight is to calorie count. It's a pain in the butt, however you can loose 3 pounds a week as long as you portion control. It does suck to do though. The site below, you can just type in the search bar what food you ate (eg. a steak at the olive garden) and it will tell you exactly how many calories you ate, and it has brand names. Good luck!

1. Stop drinking beer.
2. Go running everyday.
3. No pop or high calorie foods

or

1. Work on your abs, along with the above 3 and you will be ripped in no time. This is probably your best option.

Yeah quit drinking beer... lol Just kidding! Well you may not have to do ab exercises to get rid of it, but a lot of cardio would help you shed some extra pounds. Then I would suggest doing some weights. But hey crunches would definitely help!

Just how much time are you planning for your walk across the US? Actually, I don't think abs exercises are the answer, at least to start. You will probably get so hungry that you will overeat and put on weight.

Of course...when you do abs exercises, you strengthen the muscles, not burn the fat on top of them. To lose the beer belly, you have to burn fat over all...though you will have not so great abs at the end without exercising those muscles.

Yes, you can not target where you will lose fat only where you will gain muscle. Abs are a good way to do cardio. But say if you ran 5 miles a day, yes you will lose fat all over. (thats just an example)

Yes, there is absolutely no coorelation of ab exercise and fat loss, (well, extremely negligible). It's about fat loss, and fat loss is about getting your heart rate up for 30 minutes at a time.
There is no such thing as spot reducing!
