Yes.
I don't know if that soul is abstract or substantial, but it is clear that people share common modes of thought and recognize similar meanings in similar sets of symbols.

Not exactly. IT is said in the Sri Iso Panisad that we are all part and parcel of the Supreme God Head but He is always full within Himself. We have all the qualities of God, but not in the same quantity. Like a drop of water in the ocean has all the qualities of the Ocean but never becomes the great Ocean. We never become the Supreme God. God is a Person and the energies coming from Him are just that His energies. The energy always comes from the energetic. Another words God also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, Rama, etc. Is personal (the Supreme Person)

I think that's a good point of view. I don't believe in a soul that's seperate from your body, but you could say that any living thing has a soul, and you could also say that these souls work together to make one larger soul.

If I understand my Catholisim, correctly, and Christianity in general ... I was of the impression that we were EACH, individually, in possession of our own particular souls ... The way that you phrase this question, it leads me to believe that you feel we are ALL a part of either God or the Universe? I may be misunderstanding you. I believe we will ALL share, one day, in the glory of God, The Father, as MANY SOULS rising to be with Him in his Heavenly home which He has waiting for us.

No, I don't believe in some sort of communal over-soul. Everybody has their own soul.

Biblical man is body, soul, and spirit. God is spirit.
It is not the soul that gets closer to God. We worship God in spirit and in truth.

No. I don't believe there's the slightest evidence that there is any thing described as a "soul" in existence.
