So that you could go there after death, or does it not make a difference to you? This is a hypotheical situtation and reading your fantastical "what if" questions, I know you can think on this level.

For some of you, stop going off subject. If you can fantacize about giving birth to the spawn of Satan and sleeping with God, then you can answer this simple question without getting defensive and talking about "fundies."

Sure, it would be great if we all met up after death in some magical, beautiful place. But there is no way I could ever be convinced that such a place actually physically exists.

I don't believe that there is any part of us that lives after death. I also cannot fathom the idea of eternal life, even if it is supposedly in a paradise (perhaps especially if it were paradise... perfection is boring); the idea of eternity is horrific to me. So no, I would not prefer that a heaven existed.

I actually thought about this many times, and came to the conclusion that a normal death with no heaven or anything sounds just as favorable to me, if not more, than the idea of heaven.

No, when I'm dead I'd rather be dead. I wouldn't want to live some half-life forever. Also, it's meant to be good, but I honestly can't see how it would work. And if there were religious fundies there I wouldn't like it at all! But really I just don't think I'd like it to go on for ever...

Buddha has given a third alternative-Nirvana. To rise above both. In this state individuality is lost completely without losing consciousness , rather one changes into superconsciousness,
forever alive & blissful without having a sense of 'I'.

I love science fiction but I also love reading about cosmology and astronomy. The later two teaches me about the real world. The first one delivers great stories that are more fascinating than religion.

If and only if there was no hell. I seriously could not handle the knowledge that people were suffering in such a manor.
And if and only if heaven wasn't the eternal-worship-factory it is portrayed to be. Otherwise I'd rather just be dead.

I'd prefer for heaven to not exist. Eternity is a long time to spend on anything.

No, I think we need to focus on the life we live right now, and to see what we can do to improve it. We should not be striving for some afterlife that has no evidence to support its existence, when we have so much to do right here in this life.

Sure but all religions should be permitted to enter in Heaven as long as they aren't maniaclly evil.
