In Singapore 1973 American Military were involved in a maritime incident?

This involved boarding a merchant ship, can't recall the name but I think it was a 2 word name with something like Daya or Gaya, can anybody tell what happened, what the incident was about

Do you mean the "Mayaguez" incident? "Mayaguez" was a merchant ship that was seized by the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia (1975) and US Marines were sent in the free it. It ended up as a fiasco.
