I use proactive religiously. I didn't have bad acne, but I had the occasional breakout. Now, my skin is alot clearer and the texture has improved dramatically. I have the occassional zit, but nothing major. And it's usually just one.

I would recommend it, but a few things to keep in mind. It has alot of salycylic acid in it. I would start by just using the cleanser and work up from there. The chemicals can be harsh, and you may notice dryness and red patches until your skin adjusts. Secondly, it is very drying. Use a good moisutizer, not just their lotion with it. Third, like any skin treatment, you will break out alot the beginning. It draws the stuff already in your skin out and that takes time. You will have an increase in acne at first, but start seeing results in about 2 weeks. I felt a difference in texture within days.

But now there is a generic version called Acne free available in drug stores. I haven't tried it yet, but it may be worth looking into, since it is less expensive and more easily accessible.
