I usually have this pain in my hand (& fingers) that numbs them completely to the point where I cannot grab a pen but it is mild so I don't pay attention just shake it and let it by.
A couple of days ago I had it again but this time it was a bit strong, in the middle of school..I couldn't write properly and the pain lasted 3 hours. This time it numbed my ring and little finger.
I got home and told a relative and she said that I might be getting carpal tunnel..because she used to have those pains..Ive looked the symptoms and it doesn't seem to be the same.
Could it be serious?

You don't have carpal tunnel, the nerve of the little finger passes outside of the carpal tunnel rather than through it, so we can safely say, you do not have carpal tunnel. Something is cutting off your circulation though. Run your hands, fingers, and thumbs over your arms and over the upper outside portion of your chest and see if there is any pain or clumps. If you have clumps, massage them out, even the ones that feel like rocks can be broken up given a bit of effort over time.

It could be that you are gripping your pencil or pen too tightly, or your writing position. If you are pressing the outer side of the arm, anywhere from the elbow down to the hand, you may also be cutting off some of the circulation to the hand or compressing the nerve which runs along that side. Any of those scenarios could result in pain and numbness in the fingers or the hand. Try altering some of them to see if that won't help improve matters, and get those soft grips for your pens and pencils. Also take care how you carry the bookbag and the amount of weight that's in it. If it doesn't improve, you probably ought to see a doctor and have the wrist checked out. It could be carpal tunnel, just in early stages yet.

Numbness in the ring and little finger would NOT be caused by carpel tunnel syndrome. It could be caused by a C8 nerve root disorder in the neck (a radiculopathy) or a peripheral neuropathy affecting the ulnar nerve in the arm/hand.

It may be a good idea to see a neurologist or your family Chiropractor for a thorough evaluation.

Best wishes and good luck.
