I named my son Joshua...so of course, that's my "favorite" boy name *smile*
...I started with J because I wanted him to have the same initials as my father...but eliminated John (dad's name) because we already have too many John's in the family)...then I looked at the meaning of the J names AND the role of that man in the bible...I liked Jacob as a name but as a man, Joshua is a far greater story!
If he had been a girl, I was considering Trinity (though that isn't biblical per se...but I liked the nickname TJ...the J wasn't biblical at all).
If I wanted to go biblical, I'd probably go with Esther because her story is very unique (and I'd pick a VERY unique name for her other name to give her the choice).

I like the name Esther, actually, as well as Sarai. Boys are more difficult. My dog's name is Samson, so I guess that's my favorite. (My cat's name is Ishtar...I have a thing for mythology and the names of the characters in them make great pet names. I don't know about those names for people, though.)

I'm Jewish, and we have a BIG history of naming children after Biblical figures. I like the names Noah and Shmuel ("Samuel") for a boy; for a girl, I like Sarai ("Sarah") and Miriam.
