Yes indeed. Most applicants start with the regionals, and move up to the majors. Unfortunately, your regional seniority will not transfer over to your new airline, unless it's an affiliated airline, such as AmEagle and AA.
Since 9/11, most majors were not hiring. That has now changed, and most of the 70+ airlines in the US are now actively hiring flight attendants.

If you have a pulse, an IQ above 85 and are reasonably mobile, you are qualified to be a F/A for any major airline in the United States; except for Southwest Airlines. With Southwest you actually need a personality.

yes you are... people with no airline back ground are hired to be a flight attendant, you have the edge to be hired because of your flying experience. you have been trained about aircraft safety. it will be easy for you.
