My friend, Krishnas hand out free copies of the Baghavad Gita at almost every major airport. Does that count as evangelism?

I don't mind evangelism, as long as people don't throw lies at me like "there are scientific miracles in this book!"

That's crooked used-car-salesman tactics, and it's disgusting. A free book or pamphlet is all the persuasion I need to stimulate my curiosity. I prefer the Baghavad Gita over the Qur'an or Book of Mormon anyday!

Christianity is disappearing in the West. It is finding new priests today in the Third World, of course! And India, because of the innate impulsion of its people towards God, is a very fertile recruiting ground for the Church, particularly in Kerala , Tamil Nadu and North Eastern states. Hence the huge attention that India is getting from the United States, Australia, or England and the massive conversion drive going on today.

Conversions in India by Christian missionaries of poor and innocent Hindus and tribes are sometimes nothing short of fraudulent and shameful. American missionaries are investing huge amounts of money in India, which come from donation drives in the United States where gullible Americans think the dollars they are giving go towards uplifting “poor and uneducated Indians”. It is common in Kerala, for instance, particularly in the poor coastal districts, to have “miracle boxes” put in local churches: the gullible villager writes out a paper mentioning his wish: a fishing net, fees for the son's schooling… And , a few weeks later, the miracle happens! And of course the whole family converts, making others in the village follow suit…

It is sad that Indians, once converted, specially the priests and nuns, tend to turn against their own country and help in the conversion drive. There are very few “White” missionaries left in India and most of the conversions are done today by Indian priests. Last month, during the Bishop's conference in Bangalore, it was restated by bishops and priests from all over India, that conversion is the FIRST priority of the Church in India. But are the priests and Bishops aware that they would never find in any Western country the same freedom to convert that they take for granted in India? Do they know that in China they would be expelled, if not put into jail?

Hello,

Simple. Christians and Muslims were instructed by their founders to go out and spread the religions to the rest of the world.

God or the gods don't punish people at least on the earthly level. So many ignore the spiritual world and live quite a luxurious and happy life thank you very much. I have never seen anyone struck down by a bolt of lightning for changing their religion. Even before Christianity and Islam other empires with their gods rose and fell despite their loyalties so all in all the gods care little for what passes on earth.

Cheers,

Michael Kelly

Hi Bhagavan,

I can't speak for Muslims, but I am a Christian and I am very interested in telling Hindus about what I have found through Christianity. Christians are people who have heard a message given us by God, and that message is that we are his children and he loves us like a father does. He himself came to earth and became a man, Jesus, so that he could meet us face to face and tell us how to become his friends. He knows how the human heart works, so he tells us how to live life to the absolute fullest. He tries every moment of every day to tell us about himself, because he knows the more we know about him, the more we will love him, and the more we love him, the happier we'll be. When Jesus was on earth, he gave us specific orders to bring his message to every nation on earth. But God's friendship and his fatherhood of us make us so happy, that we would probably want to spread the news even if he hadn't told us to. Because when you fall in love with somebody, the first thing you want do is share the news with everybody. Christians do the same thing - the more we learn about God, the more we fall in love with him and become his friends, and the more we want to introduce other people to our friend, too. It's a strange thing, that the lord and maker of the universe would want to be friends with tiny, limited creatures like us, but that was God's idea, not ours, and he has his reasons! That's why Christians try to convert Hindus in India.

Please ponder over these points...

1-This universe is continuously changing and it will not stay same even after a fraction of second.
2- Nothing is perfect except God.
3- Every creature or you can say every particle in the universe is continuously trying to be close to perfection and therefore changing it's position and state.
4- Man kind is the best creature as known in this created universe as on today.
5- Man has the major responsibility to explore the truth and purpose of his creation and something to do to reach his perfection.
6- Whoever finds the truth and reach to his perfection is only due to the 'Mercy and Love of God' and this is only possible by your total surrender before God first and use your knowledge, intuition, Guidance, Open heart to accept God, Compassion towards other creatures, and good deeds of Justice and Peace ( internally and externally) through out life and every where.
7- This is the message of every righteous religion and you can give the name of that religion as you like. I say it 'ISLAM'.
Someone can say it Christianity or you can say it Hinduism. But it is all the same.
8- FINALY, I WOULD LIKE TO SAY, THIS IS MOST NECESSARY TO EXPAND THIS RELIGION WITH THE NAME OF ALL RELIGIONS. and every human being has right to know the RIGHT.

Why the utter ignorance?! Atheists know there are no such things as gods so they would not, indeed could not, be hindu or Muslim but they can follow any religion that does not have a god and Buddhism is the largest of the atheist religions!

because in both Christian and Muslim religion, it is taught to convert everyone. This includes each other, this includes the Hindus.

Perhaps Hindus have better manners than Christians or Muslims. I think it's the height of disrespect to claim that your spiritual beliefs are superior to others'.

Because they are a different sort of religion.

If you believe 100% in a God that says that He is the ONLY God, and everyone should believe in and worship Him, it makes sense that you would go try to tell others about it. Because you believe it 100%, there's no wiggle room for "unless it's what you want."

I've never heard of such a thing! But don't give in, don't let yourself be converted, stay strong to your family's and your people's traditional religion. Good Luck.
