Foods high in fat often make us feel sleepy, as does consuming things high in sugar. Right now you're probably crashing after a sugar "high".

It is normal to feel sleepy after eating, especially a large meal or one that is high in carbs. You're blood flow is directed to your digestive tract and therefore you may feel drowsy, lightheaded and just tired.
As far as after drinking just a soda, I'm not sure about that.
Also some foods have natural calming effects about them. Such as turkey!
Hope this helped you!

i often feel drowsy after eating - carbs, protein, fats...doesn't matter. I think i feel sleepy because my body is using a lot of energy to digest the food in my belly. It's true I can sugar shock myself by eating too many carbs, but this is a different phenomenon - and a different feeling entirely.

Eating too much heavy meal may be the normal for a short time, as you do periodically, your blood is beginning to collect inside stomach, so blood is beginning to decrease in brain and you feel drowsy if you are under stress hormones, it shrinks the veins of brain so less blood in brain means shrinked veins ,shrinked veins means you feel drowsy.
you are under so much stress or depression may be happened to you. When you under stress ;stress hormone(cortisone) released to blood circulation and this hormone starts to shrink your veins of brain as a fact of you need more blood in your brain into do that you must free from stress hormones
my advice is go the psychiatrist and begin to antidepressant medicine as possible and make a blood cortisol test
