they are all of the mongoloid ethnic grouping in addition to the other ethnicities which are black and white to different degrees. however in the '80's i watched a show that at that time said that the 3 original ethnic groups had co-mingled to the point where there are more like 22 different subgroups. so guess what folks just because you don't look the part of all three of the original ethnic groups does not mean that the other 2 passed you by. so just because you don't look it or know it does not mean you are pure anything. sorry to burst so many bubbles tonight. BTW the only ethnic group that has no connection to any of the original 3 is the aboriginals of australia

It is thought that the Americas were populated from the North down some time in the late Pliestocene. It is thought that during the last ice age, people crossed the Bering strait by traveling on a "land bridge" of glacial ice that connected what is now Siberia and Alaska. In fact, there is some commonality between place names and the names of items in both Inuit (what some call Eskimo) and the peoples living in far northeastern Russia.
Over the last 14,000 years, this group that entered the Americas were thought ot have traveled gradually south, and there is some historical evidence to support that. At some point along this time, it is hypothesized that these people hunted wolly mammoth to extinction, then perhaps traveled further south, venturing into the American Southwest, east into the mid-continental US, and south into Mexico and Central and South America.
The people may look alike because of a common origin. But also, Mexico, Central and South America were heavily colonized by Spain (and Portugal) during the 1400's and 1500's, which may explain some more of the common "look".
I realize this is grossly oversimplifying, but hopefully it helps.

Well, people on the North American continent came here crossing a land bridge over the Bering Strait about 15,000 years ago (approximately - depends on who you ask). That land bridge closed about 8,000 years ago (again, approximately). So we're talking about people of the same ethnic groups coming here a loooong time ago, and then they're stuck here together for another looooong time. Basically, they are the same ethnic group if you go back far enough: the people who crossed the Bering Strait land bridge, who were largely of Mongolian descent, settled all over the continent. Some decided to stay in Alaska and became the Inuits later; some decided to stay in Florida and become the Seminoles; some stayed in Mexico and became the Maya; some stayed in Peru and became the Inca, etc.

Basic Darwin-ism/ Evolution. In the same way that a child will have similar features to her parents. Dominant traits are expressed more and more frequently with each successive generation.
Every so often, a new trait may arise almost inexplicably and work itself into the gene pool, if it is a useful trait.
Some attribute this to chaos theory, others to the Hand of God.
Me, I'm a "Hand of God" kinda guy.
----------------
If you're asking why Asians look like Asians, Europeans look like Europeans, etc. then it's because they've evolved under different circumstances. Whatever traits were best suited to their environments became dominant traits. In Africa, dark skin was best suited. In Europe, light skin was best suited, and so on.

They don't all. The natives of the various Americas have similarities (and differences), and Spain colonized generally in Latin America, so the varying blends are sometimes similar. But there are all colors and ethnicities in each of the central american countries, so you are off base.
Peoples are variously related however, across the globe.

Not sure about those from Central America (per your mention).
But, generally, Native Americans such as Cherokee, Creek, etc, SIMILAR TO ETHNIC CHINESE, have an extra rib on each side of the cage, the backs of their teeth are concave, and other genetic traits are suspiciously similar.
As the descendant of Cherokee/Irish/African/completed-democrat-turned non-democrat...
I'm proud to say that my rib-search has, as yet, been uneventful. No arrows have pierced my existing horizontals as I search for imagined ones.
Thanks for asking!!!

because they have the same ancestors.but because we marked our border and closed it the Mexicans are s.o.l. while we give land to Indians tell them sorry then say our laws don't apply to their reservations.the Mexicans got the short end of the stick on that one.maybe they should have settled more north then the wouldn't have these immigration problems.if only they could have seen into the future.
