I found out this evening that my girlfreind doesn't know who she is. She is very confused on life in general so to speak. She has been taking a bible study class and says he has no idea what she is reading she doesn't understand a word of it. She goes to church with me every sunday and she tells me tonight that the sermons confuse her she has no idea what to make of them. She doesn't understand why I love her. She doesn't understand why her doesn't want to live with her(she is nine by the way and i don't even understand that one.) Her daughter is constantly over at her grandparents house. FYI when her daughter was younger her ex-husband would treat them both like ****. he would constanly yell and scream tell her that she is worthless. She has never been in a loving relationship until now, and she is not handling this one very well. I love her with all my heart and am not going to abandon her. she constantly asks me why are you with me? I tell her it is because i love her with all.

my heart and soul and could never think of leaving her. just a little bit more background on her her dad left when she was five so she has never had a father figure in her life her mother has worked all her life to help provide for the three children she had, and her step dad said that it wasn't his responsibility to be a parent. so she has basically been on her own her whole life. her mother loves her but, i dont think she feels that connection with her mother that most girls have and i fear that her daughter is headed down the same road. She has never had a good relationship in her adult life every man she has ever been with has treated her like ****. So my question is how do i help her find herself and reassure her that I am not going anywhere. I love her and i am going to stick this out if it kills me.-please advise thank you for your time and sorry for this being so long.

Not sure what your question is, but here is my impression:

She needs counseling, to help her sort herself out. She probably is not ready for a relationship, though I doubt that will affect your feelings. Probably the best thing you can do for her is encourage her to be herself, find herself, and keep the pressure off. She sounds like she has a lot on her plate right now.

Wow, here we go! First let's deal with the Church issue: When you first go to the Church a lot of what is said can be confusing. There are many formulas to reading the Bible what helped me was this. Go to the concordance in the back of the Bible and look up the word depression (any word that you feel describes your girl) write down every verse it gives you. And then read it. It will be more of an instructional than many verses. Again, Proverbs tells us to pray for wisdom. She has to ask for understanding and the Holy Spirit will guide her.
