My husbands mom is literally a crack whore she smokes dope and sells her body on the street for it...me and her can't stand each other we almost got into a fight cause I told her she couldn't stay with us anymore cause she didn't want to work she wasn't trying to get clean and she was going out on crack beinges for days....My question is am I wrong for not letting her see her Grandaughter.? I just had my little girl on oct 23..and I have told my husband I don't want his mom around even if she gets clean which will never happen if she is in her 40's and she been on dope since she was 19.......no telling what diseases she is carrying from prostituting and drug use just the thought of her breathing the same air as my little girl freaks me out!!!.....Can I compromise in a situation like this?

ive known a couple crack heads you are NOT wrong! , my friend would have sold her kid for a rock if she could have. if she didnt think her hubby would have killed her on the spot! i would get this women out of your house right now and change the locks , lord knows who shes given a key to the house for them to rob in exchange for drugs. you could lose your child if the police would come in the house and find crack , if your hubby truly loved you and your child mommywould be longgggggggggg gone. you can NOT compromise in this situation you risk losing your daughter and exposing her to horrible people and other dangers.

There's no compromising here. Your main priority is protecting your daughter and ensuring her well-being. The fact that this lady is the grandmother is completely irrelevant. The only thing that matters here, is to make sure that your baby girl is not exposed to any danger. Neither you nor your husband should feel guilty for being good parents. Your MIL will only accept to get help when she really wants to get better and when she's ready for it, but she's not your responsibility; your responsibility -your husband's and yours- now is your child.

Cutting off your mother in law from seeing her grand child is very cruel of you Shes a human being with a big problem but that doesn't m ean she is evil As long you are there let her hold her grand child as long as she want because one day you will be a grandma to and What goes around comes around Dont EVER forget this one

You sound really judge mental-fighting your mother-n-law-immature and giving your husband an ultimatum-foolish-banning the grandmother from seeing the granddaughter-wow. She is an addict. She may surprise all of you and get clean one day. At that time watch your family dynamics change.
