Because the media and anti cannabis people have convinced you that this is what happens when you smoke. Mind over matter! For example, if someone who wasnt educated about cannabis had a puff and started buzzing strong then the next man came along and convinced the stoner that he has overdosed the person would freak. If you're going to smoke weed don't listen to all the rubbish and lies just stay positive and aspire to be like bill gates or richard branson. You must stay focused on something positive. Dont be a fool just puffing and dossing. This is when you can start getting down.

It is possibly a moral dilemma; sometimes people just have this sudden creeping feeling that they are going to get caught. Maybe you don't think it's wrong, but your mom recently called someone a "pot-head" and it's eating at your or something.
Also, consider the source of your drugs. Can you be absolutely sure that they are high quality, or did someone just tell you they are (like vitamin supplements, you can't count on the quality of the product just by what you are told by the person marketing it)?
Some people are allergic to foods, some to pollens, some to alcohol, you could possibly be allergic to a chemical you're absorbing from the drugs. I developed my variety of allergies at various times in my life, and even if you have smoked before, it is possible that you are newly allergic, or allergic to a particular chemical used in the growing of the cannabis (unless it's organic?).

You're body probably just can't handle the high grade. Or something might be telling you to QUIT!. You could cut back or go to something a bit more mild. I would recommend not doing it at all. It can cause damage to your body as well as to your personal life. No one wants to be known as a "pot head." Ever seen "That 70's Show," do you want to be like the guy with the long hair when you are 40? Or would you rather lose your job because you can't pass a drug test? It's for you to decide.

Same thing happened to me. Back when I used to smoke weed, i would smoke no panic attacks, and the, I smoked some really powerful chronic, and started to panic big time, i mean, started coughing tremendously, had trouble breathing, started to freak out, and so on....
I have a couple of ideas...either the pot was laced with something (some kind of chemical), or it was just tremendously powerful bomb. either way, it was not a pleasant experience.

The bud may be too high quality, or you may be smoking more than you need to. Try taking just 1 or 2 hits of it and waiting 15 minutes. There is no need to smoke a whole bowl of chronic to yourself. Either that or cut back.

I'd like to think that it is your remaining intelligence screaming for you to stop being stupid. Maybe it is. Do yourself a great service by listening.
How is a panic attack an enjoyable experience? Don't heads ingest drugs because they like the way it makes them feel?
In the meantime, yes, marijuana, among other drugs, can cause anxiety. I'm providing you a link; there are many more.

The stronger the THCs the more adverse the affects. Although panic attacks are rare, they aren't unheard of, especially if you take into consideration outside stimuli and other factors that may have had something to do with why things were different for you this time around :o)

Marijuana is a hallucinogen.
You are experiencing a common hallucinogenic side effect.
You are likely smoking too much. Smoke less - take a couple hits, you shouldn't be doing bong hits of high grade.
Bottom-line, you're drinking whiskey like it's beer and, instead of puking, you're getting paranoid.

Maybe you are confusing panic attack with being paranoid. It happened to me. Take some time off from getting high.
