What can I do to precooked shrimp to make it taste fresh?

It came from the fresh fish counter in my local grocery, but obviously it had been frozen after it was boiled. Now it tastes of preservative.

Season up a pot of water w/ salt, lemon, and Zatarain's Crab Boil. Drop the shrimp into the water,let sit maybe 30 seconds, and remove. Use in recipe as usual.
