If he were (and actually existed) he would have made himself known to all ethnic groups and languages at the same time thus demonstrating his universality, all powerfulness and actual Love of mankind by avoiding religious wars.
One message sent to all corners of the Earth at the same time in all languages would have UNIFIED mankind behind one and only religion avoiding wars.

Greetings: We as humans have a very difficult time in understanding God. We have finite minds and God's mind is infinite. We are using our finite minds to understand God' s infinite mine and it just will not compute.
God did the things He did for a reason. For us to understand all that would make us equal with God. And that is not going to happen, this side of heaven. That is why the Christians belief is based on Faith. Faith to know that God knows what He is doing.

This is actually kind of hard for me to answer.
God is universal, all powerful, and loving. I know this because every time I pray, my prayers are answered.
I'm not trying to give the impression that I know how God thinks, or what His plans are, but I think that without multiple religions, the world would be a very boring place because everyone would be almost the same.
I'm sorry that I couldn't give you a better answer.
