before and after you blow dry use paul mitchell super skinny serum, just like a nickel size. it is amazing and keeps crazy frizzy hair soft and straight. i worship the stuff.

Hee hee. Okay. Don't straighten it anymore. Let it go. Use moisturizing conditioner (I used to use a deep conditioner every day when I color treated my hair) daily. Put in mousse, gel, or styling lotion/cream, then let it dry naturally. Scrunch it with your hands while it's drying now and then. Once it starts to get into shape and be dry, HANDS OFF!

If you want your hair to be in a ponytail, then gel it and comb it back while it's still wet.

Also, get it cut. Sometimes the poof is from split ends and stuff. Go to a salon and explain your problem. Then, poof-ty, poof-ty, no more poofy!

Me. But I'm letting mine grow out long, because when it's long it's thinner and straight. Right now it's right on my shoulders.

As for your problem..
I usually comb all of the tangles out, then put on some light Ausse moose to flatten the poofyness. Not too much though.. you don't want it too flat. I also put some hairspray in, but not a lot. I then run my fingers through it, just to make sure it doesn't get natted.

It works for me.. but my hair may be different than yours.

Good luck.
