You can wear the clothes a religion wants you to, attend mass where and when it's expected, celebrate their holidays, read their holy scriptures until your head explodes, and preach their ideals until your tongue falls out, but if you don't truly believe in something then it is just a big lie. You can participate in this religion and convert your lifestyle to adhere to it and your friends' ideals, but deep down it would all be fake. It's better to be a "heathen" and be true to yourself then pretend to be something you're not for acceptance. I hope this helped you!

It depends on what religion you want to convert to. As a Christian, I will give you my opinion. If you convert to Christianity 'just because' then it won't mean anyhting. Christanity is so much more than a title. It is a personal relationship with God. If you don't feel that you are ready for a personal relationship with God, then that's fine and your friends should know to respect that and maybe give you answers to any questions that you may have. I pray that you will give this some thought and feel free to ask your friends any questions. And if you tell them that you aren't ready to convert, and that you need time to think on it, I bet that they will back off a little and readily answer your question. So the answer to your question is: converting is a decision and a commitment, not something to be taking lightly. You shouldn't do it just to make others happy because then you won't be happy. And you can totally convert if nothing totally amazing has happened in your life. The only excuse you need to convert is that you feel that God is calling you to be His child. And when that happens, you will be totally convicted of that.

No, you can't convert to another religion to just experience. That isn't right and it wouldn't actually be converting if you didn't believe it. You potentially could convert to make other people happy, but why? It wouldn't fit your life and beliefs, so why? I think that you can convert without a huge spiritual event, most probably don't. You can convert just because...but I hope as time goes on there are more reasons than that. I converted to Christianity, becasue I wanted more out of my life and I knew that there were reasons for things...there were things I had to do. You can't "just convert" You have to have reasons and feelings and purposes. Convert if you believe it, feel it and want it. Don't do it to make other people happy, it is your life and you need to become faithful for the right reasons.

having a faith is just having faith.

jesus said seek the truth and you will find god for they are the same

i have brought this to your attention for the "im looking for a real answer"

i say that you may be better at meeting the standard than you think or those who say you need converting. also you do not need others to convert the whole point of religion is having a relationship with your maker men cannot provide this.

Converting to Christianity is a decision that you, and only you, can make. No one else can make it for you. Only become a Christian when you feel that you are ready to accept Christ.
I know from experience that being a Christian is a wonderful thing and that no matter how hard life becomes, God will be there to carry you through every bump in the road.

You can pretend to convert, but conversion is a true turning to the God of heaven and Earth because you have learned you are a sinner and need a Savior and asking Jesus to be your LORD.
That's about all anyone could say unless you want to spend a life of pretense. Tell them all the truth about your standing.., then ask this God "if HE is real, come and present Himself to you and you WILL serve Him and truly convert"!

You have to believe to convert. But you do have a reason. It is natural to have a reason. I'd ask God about it.

Mark 16:16
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Ask God to help you with your unbelief.

No, you can not convert without the one and only reason. That is to repent of your sins and ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart.

John 14:6 Jesus said, " I am the way, the truth, and the life: No man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

I think you already know the answer. If you don't believe in it, you can't "convert".

I'm sorry that your family won't let it go; that must be hard. Hang in there. Maybe some day they will appreciate you for who you are.

Best wishes.

If you have faith in God and his teachings, why change your love to God. If you are on the right way why go to the wrong way? If you are walking on a clean and cemented road, why select the dirty and muddy road?Think otherwise. If you believe God, you will gain something and if do not believe in Him, you will lost everything including your soul. do not follow satan to the wrong path but follow God to the right path.
