I was an only child for 8 years, i was spoiled and horrible, then my little sister arrived and 2 years later my little brother. my mum was terrified about the way i would be with my new sister but i changed over night. I learnt to share and realize that there was someone else who needed to be protected and cared for. And as we grew up i learnt to listen to my siblings and be there for them and help solve any problems they might have. I truly believe it made me a better and much nicer person. x

patience. sharing. being able to show affection. basically everything. having that sibling bond makes you know that you're not alone in the world and the confidence from siblings feeds onto the other ones. siblings strive to make the others feel good and when everyone does that, there's a whole lot of learning and confidence to learn .

sharing (yes kids will still learn how to share otherwise but not as well), accepting other people for who they are.. and something that isnt a life skill but still very important, having someone there for you, someone to share the memories and the laughs with... sometimes i hate my brothers but if they ever need anything im the first one they ask

I've noticed that I am more mature, less shy and outgoing because of my older sister. I have learned from her experiences, and I know a little more about what to expect in the coming years because of her.

peer pressure is essential. If I tell my son he stinks and needs to take a bath he won't do it because I am his dad. If his friend, brother or sister tell him he stinks he will take a bath immediately. Kids learn a lot of social skills this way.

umm sharing!!! alot of my only child friends have the worst time grasping the concept that not everything is yours... they've gone through my pures before, i mean if your siblings did that, you'd teach them otherwise
