If no God exists and life evolved from a bunch of chemicals by chance, it's logical to assume that our existence is simply an accident of nature. So no, life after death wouldn't exist.
On the other hand, IF God exists, what then? It would mean an entirely different reality apart from the physical world--it would mean there is a spiritual dimension of our existence, that maybe our existence doesn't end when the physical life does.
I encourage you to keep searching--it seems like the answer to your question depends on whether God exists or not. A good place to start is http://www.allaboutthejourney.org/. I'd also like to suggest http://www.everystudent.com/journeys/nothing.html.

According to the theory of evolution there is only one life. After this we're gone. The concept of after-life arises when one couldn't except this fact. And so life after death theories appears (in religious scriptures) to comfort human being into thinking that he will get to go to heaven where there is no more suffering.
Try ask question about heaven and you'll get Santa-like descriptions i.e. people (or soul) are merry singing and dancing, virgin girls ever ready to have sex and so on.

An intelligent man will never ask this question. Make your own logic, then, believe or don't believe. Definite proof of existence of God and existence of life after death (two things) is beyond human capability.

Yes,there is death, there is life;there is good and bad;there is win and lost;Sunny day and rainy day.In Buddhism ,we called this world , a both sided. They are against and co-exist,they are one and not two. There is yesterday, today and tomorrow.Past, present and future. Please think of what i said. What does all this meant. We always want proof but when we had the proof ,we do not want to accept. We refused to accept what we do not like and reject without any reason.Life is not eat, drink, rest, learn, sleep and playing around without even think of what all this meant.May God Bless all with Wisdom and happiness.Amitabha.......Ai Mi Tuo Fo

,Jesus who I believe was God in human form said if you believe in me you shall never die. In another place he says you will not even taste death, he also said I come to bring life abundantly. The life he was referring to is the one that we enter when we shed these weak bodies and see God in his realm. Jesus was obviously not referring to physical death or he is a liar, I cannot accept that now and never will. For all of those who do not believe, I would do some searching the consequences if you are wrong are dire however if I am wrong I have lost nothing by believing

Different religions believe different things, but that's just it. Beliefs. That's all it comes down to. There is no concrete evidence to back any of it up. As far as we as humans know, nothing will happen after death as far as a "spirit" of sorts goes. I mean, the mind decays along with the rest of the body and the spirit is somewhat of a metaphor in of itself, so the likelihood of life existing after death is essentially equivalent to unicorns living on the moon.

He who created Death
And life that He
May try which of you
Is best in deed;
And He is the Exalted
In Might, Oft-Forgiving
Every soul shall have
A taste of death:
And only on the Day
Of Judgement shall you
Be paid your full recompense.
Only he who is saved
Far from the Fire
And admitted to the Garden
Will have attained
The object (of life):
For the life of this world
Is but goods and chattels
Of deception

No... Death is the complete cessation of life..
The only life there can be after death is either a memory of the dead person, in someone else's mind, or, when God resurrects all the dead, for their first real chance to experience perfect life, forever, if they choose to embrace God's ways. (That resurrection will be after Armageddon.)
“'The first man Adam became a living soul.' The last Adam became a life-giving spirit." -- 1 Co15:45, see also:Ge 2:7b
"The soul that is sinning--it itself will die." --Ez 18:4
"His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground;
In that day his thoughts do perish." --Ps 146:4
"All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in She′ol, the place to which you are going." --Ecc 9:10
"You will ... return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return." --Genesis 3:19

Yes I really believe that life after death exist because it was spoken by Allah the only one God in the holy Qur'an as muslim life guide given by Allah.Resurrection day and the final and fair God's judgement .All humans would be divided into heaven inhabitant and hell inhabitant and its conditions were spoken in several surahs in the Qiur'an such as surah 37 Ash Shafaat, surah 45 Al Jaatsiyah, surah 51Adz Dzaa riaat, surah 56 Al Waqiaah surah 69 Al Haqqah ,surah 83 Al Muthaffifin, surah 84 Al Insyiqaq, surah 88 Al Ghaasyiyah etc.
Every person on the resurrection day will be shown his/her records about good doings and bad doings and be responsible for it..A person who had strong faith to Allah and had more good doings than his/her bad doings will enter heaven and be given rewards with happiness.A person who had weak faith, and atheist and had more bad doings than good doings will enter hell and be punished by very hot fire. and be sadness..As a muslim we should believe on 6 pillars of iman(faith) e.g believe that Allah is the only one God,belie
ve Qur'an is the last life guide from Allah, believe in Muham mad pbuh is the last prophet, believe in angels, believe in the live after death in heaven and hell and believe in God's decision or taqdir.

Continue to be curious. Ask the questions but ask them of those that you can rely on to give you the truth - that is, the unbiased.
Listen to all points of view and decide for yourself but choose to accept only that that is logical. Ignore any advice that contains suggestions that invisible wizards lurk above the clouds.
Seems that you could be on the first rung of the ladder to atheism and I encourage that very much. It is the only option that makes any sense.
