Edible (nonpoisonous) and digestible (nutritive) are two different things. Few leaves from trees will offer any nutrition since humans lack fermentation stomachs to digest cellulose and lignin, found in plant cell walls. The leaves will only offer fiber. Ruminants (cattle, sheep and deer) use bacteria in their fore stomachs to digest fiber by fermentation then use enzymatic digestion in the small intestines for everything else they eat. Non ruminants (humans, pigs and dogs) digest carbohydrates, protein and fat only by enzymatic action.
Edible leaves include Lime (Tillia), Bay (Laurus nobilis), and fig.

YES if they are leaves that taste like anything other than grass and if the tree has not been sprayed with insecticides.

I have munched bay leaves, sassafras leaves, and (from a vine) grape leaves.

It depends on what plant. Some plants are poisonous, even the leaf.
