Tough question to answer. You don't say what you mean by "normal bullet". There are so many different types of construction including solid copper bullets that you will have to explain what is a normal bullet to you. Some time ago, I read that someone had fired a bullet that had exceeded 4,000 fps. Now, that's FAST. Back in the 1930s or 40s the holy grail of ballistics was 3,000 fps. The first cartridge to exceede that was a wildcat cartridge which came to be known as the .250-3000. The 3000 was added to its name to commerate the fact that it was the first cartridge to break the 3000 fps barrier. A lot of different technologies go into making a record setting velocity. There is cartridge design, bullet design and powder design. This is going on all the time by cartridge manufacturers to try to make a bullet that flies flatter and hits harder. So, I don't know where they are today but they have cracked the 4,000 fps barrier. I don't know if such a cartridge is on the market yet or if it is just experimental. Who knows what tomorrow holds.

It varies depending on the caliber and the cartridge.
For example .38 S&W throws a 146 gr. LRN at a bit over 600 fps.
Ruger's new .204 Ruger is reputed to pass 4,000 fps.
And plenty of rifle cartridges surpass 3,000 fps.
As some one else suggested, check ballistic tables to get an idea. There are several on-line sources, and the Guns & Ammo Annual generally has a set of tables showing the velocities and trajectories of most factory offerings.

Define normal...
Depends on the bullet weight and charge (powder) behind it.

That is like asking how big the normal cloud is or how fast the normal idiot thinks. Sorry, but you do need to be a little more specific.

question is too vague....
9mm luger 1100 fps
45acp 900fps
30-06 2900fps
depends on the caliber, most will fall between 800-4000fps but there are exceptions.

depends on the type, and other factors. but all boxes tell on the side what is the fps of the round. (fps = feet per second)
