In verse 27 the Sadduces did not believe in the resurrection. But Jesus pointed out that they believed in Moses which also would make them believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
By Jesus telling them he is a God of the living meant that Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were alive... in other words resurrected... what they didnt believe

The sadducees did not believe in the resurrection hope that Jesus promised and talked about (Acts 24:15). Jesus was proving them wrong.
Those who have the prospect to the Heavenly ressurection (which is the first resurrection Rev 20:6) can not die again and will not be
given in marriage in heaven for they will be ruling as kings and priest. Therefore the ressurected ones going to heaven will be just like the Angels in heaven who have no need of marriage, they will have other duties to fill and also praising God along with Jesus while in heaven. Rev5:10.

The Sadducee's, a group of conservative religious leaders honoured only the Pentateuch - Genesis through Deuteronomy as Scripture. They also did not believe in a Resurrection of the dead because they could find no mention of it in those books. The Sadducee's decided to try their hand at tricking Jesus, so they brought him a question that had always stumped the Pharisees. After addressing their question about marriage, Jesus answered their real question about the resurrection. Basing his answer on the writings of Moses - an authority they respected - he upheld belief in the Resurrection.

The sadducees were a sect of judaism that did ot believe in a ressurection at the end of time. This question was Given to Jesus by them to stump him so to speak. when Jesus replied to them , they were the ones who were stumped as he told them how it was going to be in heaven. In laymens terms what Jesus told them was marriage was for here and now, for family and procreation, however there will be no need of that in heaven as we will be with God and our family will be those who also accepted Christ. Hope this helps ya

What this Chapter is stating if you are married when the new order of things come into place you will not know that person as your husband or your wife. That will not be the way things will take place.
