The media is so anti-Catholic and it doesn't all have to do with the whole prevert Priest thing. I notice that how many here mentioned that. Religous intolerance is wrong. And just to say, Hitler didn't just kill Jews. He'd kill all those he considered "socially unfit". And Catholics have been persucted as well. Don't you recall the Romans feeding the Christians to the lions?

Every group is bashed in some way or another. Even if anti-Semitic is considered wrong...the concept still exists, meaning it happens, wrong or not.
What always confuses me is the number of Christians who seems to think Catholics are not Christian like them...

Because outing a priest who fondles small boys is not equal to killing a family for remaining Jewish, which has been done time and time again (often BY catholics) for two thousand years, since the inception of xtianity.
Big difference, no?
Other than that, intolerance is never okay, but it is quite easy to disagree with an organization which covers up the abuse of children by it's representatives. Disagreement and speaking the truth are NOT intolerance. They may be uncomfortable for you, but they're truth.

Yes, but in a way it is back firing because the Catholic Faith is the fastest growing faith because people are not dumb they can stop and think---hey wait a minute---The only religion that it is safe to hate in this world in this day and age is the Catholic Faith---hmmmm---this world is out to get us so maybe that old adage about the enemy of my enemy is my friend is true---If the Devil does not like Catholicism and he is the one in charge of this world now, then it must be the right one!!!

they are most certainly NOT the same thing. the mocking of any religion is one thing, but an anti-semite is one who deems it okay and proper to be outright discriminatory to a culture, not an idea. catholic bashing targets a belief system, not necessarily the people who hold it and catholics are NOT discriminated against or threatened with violence...at least not in this country.

As a Catholic, I don't think it's OK to be either. Further, it's not exactly the same thing as being Jewish is both a religion and an ethnicity. I haven't seen media bashing Catholics; I've only seen Evangelicals and Fundies doing it here.

Is this the new trend?
Thinking Catholics are not Xians is the same as thinking Jews control the media and need to be wiped off the planet?
Neither one is right, but come ON! There is 'persecution' and then there is persecution!

It's not okay. It's not right to bash any religion. I think we should respect everybody's beliefs, whether we agree with them or not. I don't agree with some religions but it doesn't mean I go around bashing them.

For some reason Catholicism is the last "acceptable" prejudice. Why? I don't know.
