I believe you're on the right track of thought. God created man in His image and it wasn't just done on this Earth.

good luck with that, but if i were you, i would read some reputable books about the subject before totally making up my mind.
correct me if im wrong, but i believe that the world (and especially the christian religious leaders and writers of the bible at the time) believed that the earth was the center of the universe, with no idea of how big the universe was and with no idea that there could be a possibility of life outside this world.

If we ever discover non terrestrial life, you'll be very disappointed no doubt. Even on this planet, most life looks not much like us at all.
