because there are some situations the position there is basically no change for acceleration, A vehicles ability to promptly flow from 60mph to ninety mph will be a lifesaver at cases for instance:you're utilising on between the severe p.c. 2 lane roads of the U. S. West which includes US 89 or US ninety 3 you're doing printed , you come back up on an RV it extremely is 10 mph below printed , you snap left and legally pull out into the oncoming site visitors lane to bypass the RV the base line is then elementary ;the a lot less time that you spend wonderful-out contained in the oncoming site visitors lane the safer you're a similar challenge occurs on hills .in case you could actual bypass going uphill then existence is sweet certainly

if you think about it cars that can do those kinds of speeds are usually expensive cars and expensive cars are what the rich buy, i do not think they buy the car because of it's speed mostly looks and snob appeal, (unless they want to use the car on a track/private land). It has almost become a norm that if you buy an expensive car it should go fast, it just good to know that you have that power if you need it, but most of the time you just enjoy the luxurious car.

because they can build them.
because it's still a challenge to get a motor vehicle to drive fast
if you take a Bugatti veyron for example, it was the sole purpose to see if it was possible to build a car with 1001 bhp, and see how fast it can go
and another thing, a speed limit has more to do with safety than how fast a car can go,
and it's a way for government's all over the world to get your money in the way of speeding tickets...

The answer is simple. A car with a top speed limit of 150 mph isn't designed to be driven at 150 mph, but so that it doesn't work so hard at the lower speeds. Less work = less wear & tear + better fuel economy.

The Bugatti Veyron can do 254 mph, I would never drive it that fast, but I would love to own one, its a fantastic piece of enginering, beautiful, and the power would be amazing, I love big cars, big engines because it makes everything so effortless, and I dont have a small wily because i'm a woman!
