You're the only person who can decide to change. I used to weigh 250#, and now I weigh 152#. I need to lose 8 more pounds to be at a healthy weight. My husband never told me I was fat--of course, my mother would tell me all the time, but of course, I didn't listen.
In the end, it was up to me to decide this is the day (02/17/06) I'm going to change my ways--I don't want to be diabetic, I don't want to have high blood pressure, and I don't want to die before knowing my grandchildren.
I lost my weight with Weight Watchers, but there are many programs out there aimed to help you lose weight. If you don't have the money right now to join one of those programs, do a Google seach, figure out how many calories you're supposed to be getting a day to lose weight at a safe pace, and lace up the running shoes and hit the pavement.
What it all comes down to is that you have to be mentally prepared in order to make the necessary changes to achieve weight loss. If you're not ready to change, you won't be successful in your endeavor.
Good luck on your quest!

As long as you eat food with a lot of salt which makes the body retain fluids and sugary products with lots of calories, and any other simple carbohydrate that is quickly incorporated into the bloodstream you will not lose weight. Your digestive system needs emzymes to breakdown food properly and emzymes in food heated to 180 degrees are destroyed. Thus the need to eat fresh vegetables and fruits. Keep in mind that the body best functions at a 7.1 ph level so consuming food that is alkline helps the body to function best. Minerals such as calcium are beneficial to raising you ph level and acidic food(lower than a 7 ph)are detrimental to the body, Soda pop disolves calcium out of the body and lowers the ph of the body. The only person who can do something about your weight is you. Educate yourself about nutrition and stop eating junk and highly processed food.

Are you kidding? It isn't anyone's responsibility other than your own. Take ownership for your condition; don't expect the public, God, or the government to intervene on your behalf.
