Carl Edwards finished the race today in 42nd. He did not get many pts. at all.

You have to look at where the other Chase contenders finished. Edwards ended up with a DNF- which is the worst possible finish for a race. The drivers who moved up placed better than Edwards did.

Umm because he got a DNF. He will only get 5 pts for leading a lap and 5 extra if it was the most. But when you get a DNF that will just mess up your day in the points.

He had a very good car until his engine blew. They did get him back out there, but he was 37 laps down by that time. He ended up finishing 42nd. Can't gain many points that way.

It depends on were he finishes the race and where the drivers that are ahead ofhim in points also finish. he did receive 5 points for leading at lest on lap.but he did not lead the most

42nd place.
Leading all those laps only netted him 5 lead lap points, Kenseth led the most laps , so he got 10.
37 points for 42nd place, and 5 points for leading a lap.
Kinda sucks, but that's racing.

I was over in here in Phnx, he looked pretty dejected, he had a great car, but something went crappy with the engine, bad for Carl he looked great for Roush but, just bad ole racing bad luck...

U have to finish a race to get points.On lap 89 he had car trouble.

He blew up!!! Didn't you see the race and by the way Jimmie Johnson won his 10 race this year that was 4 in a row too!!!!!!

He ended up finishing 42nd (1 spot ahead of Dale Jr.) because of an engine malfunction.
I am really bummed!!!
