Since Jimmie only has to finish 18th or better to win the championship, will he run the last race conservatively, or if given the chance will he go for the win? Five in a row would be tempting, but a good, smart race with such a nice cushion will almost guarantee himself the back to back championship.

Your thoughts?

If you feel the need to bash Jimmie, or can't answer the question without bias, then please skip over my question and don't answer it at all.

Well AMP....that really wasn't an answer to my question, now was it? So why did you even bother?

I think the main thing it depends on is where Jeff Gordon is running. If Gordon is running up front and looks strong then Johnson will have to turn it up a notch.

Also If things play out well and Jimmie can work his way to the front safely then he will definitely go for it. I have been surprised at the chances that he has taken in the last two races when he could have been "conservative". He chose to be competitive and it payed off.

Also you have to take into consideration that this is his last chance this year to pull off five wins in a row. If I was in the car I would go for it especially the way his cars have been handling. I think Chad Knaus has a good grasp on what it takes to get the car competitive each week and he knows Jimmie's driving style.

They have that winning combination and nobody can take that from them. I think he will have no choice but to go for it.

He wants to win this championship. If he is doing well and is challenged, he will drive hard to clench the checkered flag. He tries to appear humble in interviews, but the hunger is there. I loved watching him and Kenseth those final laps in Texas; that was exciting racing.

I think the Cup is his to lose, and he won't lose it. Regfardless of what the haters and fair weather fans think, Jimmie earned it.
Anybody who wins 10 out of 35 races does IMO.

I think it depends on where Jeff is. If Jeff is leading I believe JJ wont take many chances once he is in the top ten. If he and Jeff are together I think they will race as hard as they can till the end.

He'll try to go for his 5th consecutive win judging by the way he's driven these last 4 races, but I hope he crashes trying.

If he runs conservatively he'll lose it. He needs to run up front like always, or he'll be back in traffic and in danger of wrecking.
