It really was not one person for me, it was a series of interchanges with several people coupled with a strong desire to get to the bottom of things by testing the claims of both camps that led me to my conclusion.

I'm not an atheist nor am I a person of religious faith.
I've been to many churches of different faith in my life. There are many sermons I've heard, agreed with and disagreed with too.
I do believe in God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit as someone or something had to create our world and humans.
My mother gave great influence on believing and so did my late grandfather on believing there is a God.

My parents and pretty much everyone around me influenced me to be a person of faith.

However, deep down inside I always knew that I was an agnostic. Now that I'm not a little kid anymore and my parents can't drag me to church, I don't go.

Call me weird...but I enjoy going to midnight mass on Christmas Eve. I don't believe any of the meaning behind it all, but the whole experience is kinda special and the cathedral is always decorated beautifully.

Other than that, I have no use for faith or church.

I don't believe that atheists are influenced by others. They come to conclusions on their own, of which seem to be the most reasonable and rational decisions which explain our lives.

Religious people are highly influenced by others. They believe their religion and what they are told to believe, ie: morals, readings, etc.

The Holy Spirit influenced me to become a Christian.
I had experienced a sense of darkness and lostness for years. Then I started reading the New Testament. Christ was revealed to me, and the Holy Spirit led me to faith in Him.
Praise God!!!

My brother went to college with a bag of pot and came back a born again Christian.

We had many many long talks, I had all the same objections as I've heard so many non-Christians say. I looked into other religions. I looked at evolution. And I then had some amazing supernatural experiences that blew me totally away. I know for a fact that God is real and his sent his son Jesus to die for our sins. I have no more doubts. He has proven himself to me. I do not have blind faith. He delights in showing himself to those to truly seek him.

I became born again in High school after initially being an atheist. My friend who drank, smoked, was always fighting and creating a nuissance of himself, sat down and told me of Jesus and His love and what he said was so thought provoking coming from someone whom I wouldn't think would be a born again christian convinced me to look up things in the bible and i realized i was living for the world and not God and I gave my heart to Jesus.
20 Years later I have had very high ups and very low downs, but His love has never wavered even though my spirit has.He is the rock and foundation of everything I believe in.
My friend still leads a hard lifestyle, but I am always thankful that God used him to show me the truth.I am very thankful for all my friends blemishes, reminds me I have them also and know that no matter what,God still loves us even with all our varied shortcomings.

My decision was not influenced by what someone else thought, said, did, etc. but rather I did years of research on many fronts coming to the conclusion that all deities are created by man to explain the unknown and become obsolete when the unknown is explained...

No one influenced me, but a variety of things did. These include death, war, crime, suffering, famine, (pretty much the entire world) and the fact that I have never seen anyone part the sea, nor has it rained 40 days and 40 nights.

no person just education and experience
Ive read the bible all my life and just decided that my ethics and morals were considerably higher than what was being taught
then to simply think about all the war and suffering the church has caused
the list goes on and on
its hard to cast off beliefs your family have had for years but we must evolve beyond that of superstition and prejudice
