A whore should be judged by the same criteria as other, professionals offering services for pay--such as dentists, lawyers, hairdressers, physicians, plumbers, etc. Is she professionally competent? Does she give good measure? Is she honest with her clients? It is possible that the percentage of honest and competent whores is higher than that of plumbers and much higher than that of lawyers. And enormously higher than that of professors.

Prostitution is illegal in Las Vegas. In the rest of Nevada it's legal. As a Christian I have two responses to this.
The first is that I consider prostitution to be completely immoral, primarily because it makes human beings into products to be rented out.
The second is that I cannot support laws against it, because in doing so I would have to advocate practices I think are not proper. *Any* time you pass a law, if you intend to enforce it, it will ultimately be backed by lethal force. The fact that no US jurisdiction has a death penalty for prostitution is beside the point. If the law is resisted, once all other options are exhausted it ultimately comes down to the ability of the police officer to shoot and kill the lawbreaker.
I simply cannot invent in my mind, no matter how I try, any ethical system compatible with Christianity that would *ever* allow me to shoot and kill someone for being a prostitute. For this reason, I cannot justify giving the police that power--not even as a last resort reserved for extreme circumstances.

Prostitution is NOT legal in Las Vegas; however, it is legal in other parts of Nevada. I have always wondered though, why so many "good" Christians spend so much time in Sin City.

It is actually not legal in Vegas. It is a myth. I believe it is the city talked about in Revelation that the sinful lady will ride out of. I will have to read it again. awesome but I can not quote anymore. It has been awhile since i read it. Makes Stephen King seem like a little school girl with sweet bed time stories.

Frankly I don't even think about it at all.
It's good to have prostitution regulated--it happens anyway whether it's legal or not, but it's safer in the long run to have it regulated so the people involved don't get so many STDs and pass them on to their customers (who pass them on to their wives/husbands or other partners).

We think have a very low regard of these people, just as most Europeans have a low regard for what goes on in some Dutch cities, and in China.

I'm not a christian...but I've got nothing against prostitution as long as it's SAFE. (meaning, condoms, constant blood tests...etc.) I think it should be regulated. People can be paid to carry your baby, practically renting their body for 9 months...so why can't you pay someone to have sex with you? Sure it sounds wrong...but that might be all some people are good for and the only means of supporting themselves that they have.

Christian or not, prostitution should be legal everywhere. Seriously! What right does the government have to tell an adult woman she cannot charge another adult for sex??!!
