First, must point out people often wean pups to soon, so they meed mom's milk for the first eight weeks which is providing them everything they need from antiboties to other agents to keep them healthy.
Let Mom do the weaning, as well as introducing them to foods, if he shows aggression stop, but normally the act of Monkey see...Monkey so comes in. (Or is that Puppy see...Puppy do?!) Either way a mother's instincts are to help baby grow, hunting in the wild are learned right?!
Same thing is going on here, a samll portion of dry puppy food soaked in water, not milk, puppy formula okay, but water, Or a turkey or chinken broth over the bits is gentler than even the formula, but not canned food this causes the runs, can food also rots teeth, and other health factors, offer the this mixture starting at five weeks of age.

When I wean my puppies, I usually start with minced meat. It is a messy task, but warming it up slightly in the microwave, and then hand feeding them tiny little pieces- they'll begin by sucking it....... I sometimes put a shallow plate of mince/puppy milk mix down - that way they can eat into themselves- it is a very messy task.
I also feed them soggy weetbix, with lots of puppy milk and a bit of warm water.
I leave a bowl of puppy biscuits down constantly - and generally find that they will start eating the biscuits when they are ready.
It's important that when you put their solid food down, to remove the mother of the babies for a while, so that they can't drink/feed from her.

just start putting in a bit of hard food into the soft food and keep putting in a little bit more each day. then eventually in about a week or so they will be on the solid food. and you can also but smaller food for dogs that you probably won't need to crush up as well. hope this helps. :)

Try mixing some puppy chow with some milk or water. Enough to make it soggy. Put their mouths up to eat and stand back and watch them go at it.
