My mom and me have had this problem for probably TWO YEARS now..Something in her house and my apartment is making us itch, especially i find, they crawl on my eyelids, in my hair, back of my neck, everywhere actually..fleas are on the ground though? We have tried dozens of cans of flea spray from the vet, mom's had her home fumigated, she has moved to a NEW BUILT HOME! Still its there! She has many Persian 100 % wool carpetsb throughout her home, i find whatever it is, it's in clothing...Now if you tell me to go to the doctor....I've been there twice...he says it's my nerves. Lol, well if this keeps up; they can really say its my nerves when i snap...sometimes i think i am cursed ! Seriously, does someone think i'm cursed for things I've done bad in the past?A problem that is haunting me and my 73 YEAR OLD MOM. I know she isn't going to be able to deal w. this much longer...tonight she said: why i woke her up, now she has to deal with these creatures again.."How do i feel hearing this?

I don't see anything either, there are no bites..its just very itchy, like different areas of my body get like a sting or something, maybe on my foot, if i itch it it goes away pretty much, then i get the next itch on my back, the next on my eyebrow..you gotta be kidding me, i tried yahoo answers last year. i'm very frustrated at THE WHOLE WORLD..i do go to counselling, doesn't help at all, I've told him about this problem, with my mom NO HELP THERE. You don't think i feel something on my skin and think i'm mental? U kidding me?;fumigation didn't help, everything is contaminated, food too, i feel i can't even eat things, mostly just frozen dinners, cans, sealed food..i have a tattoo on my neck that has satan references(gotten when i was drunk), i used to work with donated clothing?i know garlic helps, that these bugs don't come bite me AS MUCH.I vacuum daily, cardboard has bugs in it when you cut it openThrift stores are a health hazard too, there clothes is full of fleas, miserable life

wow! that's something! gee.. i'm really sorry for you, that's just an aweful situation! first, lemme say.. i really don't know what the heck it could be! maybe try airing out your house (windows/ doors open, etc) and laying anything with cloth or fur (rugs, clothes, pillows, sheets, anything like that) outside for a day or two to try and get these creepy things out!! second, you talk about being cursed.. i'm sure you're not cursed. but (please don't let me creep you out) but you may have some sort of satanic problem in your house (i'm not into witchcraft or ANYTHING like that) i believe in Jesus Christ and the devil wants to hate on people and hurt them in anyway possible. i would SERIOUSLY suggest having a pastor (i don't know if you go to church or not) but if you know a pastor/minister.. please ask him/her to come to your house and just walk around and pray over the place! i'll be praying for you! please check into the Bible to find verses to help you in this crazy hard situation!! i'll pray for ya!

wow, that could be so many different things.

do you see fleas anywhere? fleas can get into clothing and bedding and especially would love those carpets.

it might be bedbugs

it might be neurological

it might be roach or ant bites, do you have marks?

if her clothing is contaminated, moving won't help unless she gets all new clothing and furniture and fumigates all the items she keeps.

I am so sorry you are both goign through this. I would suggest checking for bugs of some type first. using a glue trap can catch the buggers so you can tell exactly what you are dealing with.

if there are no bugs, I would go to a neurologist and be checked out. you might also consider counseling at least to deal with the irritation and stress caused by this situation. Then if it turns out it is a mental issue you will allready be seeing someone who can help you.

I hope that things improve for you very soon.!!!!

You say that you have not seen the bugs and there are no apparent bites. That seems very shocking. I am reminded of a documentary which I saw a few months ago (here in Germany) about similar cases - a few people were convinced that there were bugs/parasites bothering them over a long period of time (these were separate individuals). The most interesting (and curious) thing was that in the end there really weren´t any bugs - it sounds ludicrous to say, but it was literally "all in their minds". The people were really at wit´s end, because no-one had believed them for so long, and they had scratched and scratched, ended up losing friends..... I felt so bad for them. The doctor on the show was very understanding, and said that the most difficult part of their "recovery" was to finally believe that there weren´t real parasites on their skin.

Please don´t take offense to this answer - I am not in any situation to claim that you are imagining something, and actually, I hope you are not. It is just striking for you to say that you have never seen them or the bites, and so I wanted to share this with you.
I will keep you in my thoughts, and sincerly hope that things get better for you. If you are fed up with your doctor, go to another... somewhere, you will get the help - either to get rid of those things, or to cope with them, or whatever. Take care!

My husband's sister had that same problem. She literally ruined her carpets from coating them so many times with bug spray. The doctor said that it is was in her head and put her on medication. She does not feel any bugs anymore.
Another thing, I read that a little-known symptom of menopause is a feeling of insects crawling on your skin.

It may just be dust mites. Getting rid of the carpets may help.
