We did a cookie buffet at my wedding. Our reception site allowed us to bring cookies in for it- and it was really cute. We served the wedding cake, so the cookies were a little treat for people to take home. My mom made some, my godmother made some, and I bought personalized fortune cookies. It was a big hit!

Candy buffets are cute and a fun way for guests to make their own favors. I've seen them done with only candies in the wedding colors, which was pretty.

Cool. We're doing one. Ask your guests or your wedding party for their favorite childhood candy names and make sure to include some of the top picks like candy floss and Tootsie Pops.

Have some sugar free, gluten free, and peanut free candies on hand (labelled specially) for those on special diets.

We are using chinese food takeout containers as favor boxes for the candy. You can make labels in your wedding colors, or tie the metal handles with ribbon.

Candy bars generally are inexpensive and easy to set up, yet they make a great presentation.

Enjoy!

I saw that on Whose Wedding... and I thought who would be the candy police to make sure some people did not take all of one candy and leave the rest. If you do a candy bar just bag it in cellophane clear bags and pile them in a great place then hopefully they will just take one, or put one for each person on each table.

I think it's kind of a waste of money and worry.

I wouldn't do it and wouldn't think of it as an amazing idea if I went to a wedding that had one. I guess I'd assume that it was for the kids since they're usually the more finicky eaters and might not go for the cake. Other than that, the only confection at a wedding should be the cake. That's what it's for, right?

I think it's cute. If you guys like it, go with it! We are doing a sundae bar.
Get some cute containers, like cute Chinese take out boxes, and they can take them home for favors,
