Unlikely, given that it wouldn't be Noah's Ark, because the flood narrative dates back many thousands of years before the story in the Bible, to ancient Sumerian legend, and in particular to ancient Akkadian legend. The age commonly put to this tale by archeologists is somewhere between 10-12,000 years ago. If it survived it would be more likely to provide evidence for Islam or one of the Mystery religions of the middle east.

No, it is hard to prove that any large boat from so long ago was indeed Noah's Ark mentioned in the bible. Also nearly every culture on the face of the earth has a legend or myth about a mass flooding of the world and a vessel used to keep the creatures on the planet alive. So i dont see how the finding of this one boat could change a persons belief in something.

It would only confirm my belief that a global flood happened, but I wouldn't be sure it was Noah's.

Scientifically, I have studied every supposed scientific reason why the flood didn't happen, and they are all incorrect. There is enough water to cover the earth, even the highest mountain, there are seashells in the highest peaks to prove that it did, it's just that people haven't looked at all of the factors. I would go into it, but it would take a book.

Basically, even though I am NOT Christian (nor Jewish), I do believe that just as recorded in so many places by so many cultures around the world, there was a global deluge and somehow you and I are here despite the wide destruction. There may be several survival vessels which could be discovered in mountains, and it would not surprise this Pagan one bit.

Blessed be,
Krodin

I heard the same thing: It has been found. I was hoping for more info, but as soon as it got out, it was repressed. So it goes the way of all other potentially life-changing breakthroughs: CENSORED. I also heard the Ark of the Covenant is located and guarded 24/7 in Israel, encased in a thick concrete vault. No hope of seeing that one, either.
I feel silly answering a question with hearsay, but these 2 items are pretty hot in the biblical archaeology field, and the presence of either one of them is potentially dangerous to Islam's stronghold, not to mention the atheistic stance. That's why they are protected so vehemently.

Well, if it were found, and it was unequivocally demonstrated that it contained 2 of each animal on the planet, and that there was a worldwide flood, and that our current genetic diversity could be explained using only the gene pool on the ark and the short period of time since all this supposedly happened...

Then I would definitely look into it further. I am nothing if not open minded. But currently I'm a common-sense atheist.

EDIT: Wow, I didn't expect anyone to take exception to my statements. Isn't it undeniable that all of the stuff I mentioned (and probably more) has to be shown to be true in order for the story of the ark to be taken seriously? It seems unfair to expect anyone to believe it but at the same time ignore the obvious physical improbability the story suggests. I guess I have to ask, to those of you who believe in the flood/ark story - are you comfortable with your answers to the questions I raised (ie do your answers not conflict with easily verifiable physical certainties) or do you choose not to fully investigate the physical implications of such a story? Or is there a third possibility I'm missing?

Probably not. I would be fascinated by what evidence it would give us of what happened to inspire the story of Noah's ark, but it wouldn't change my religious beliefs (I'm already a Christian).

Ever watch NGC (National Geographic Channel)??? They found the ark, a little boy who was out playing around on mount ararat found a long oblong wooden structure and there was a hole in the top, just like it describes in the Bible. There have been films of it, but the structure shifted and hasn't been found since. You know, Arial View!

Were have you been? The ship was found on the top of Mount Ararat Turkey some 30 years or so. Because of the high Muslim influence they wont let people go back. It is preserved by the tar coating and the freezing temperatures

like white dove and Noah said it has been found and is sticking out Mount Arat (spelling?) in Turkey right where the Bible says it was. No it didn't change my religious beliefs it only served to enhance them.

It has already been found.

Its been very well documented, in books and on TV.

The problem is that its on top of a remote mountain controlled by Muslims who don't like the idea that it will give a lot of additional credibility to the Bible.
