you may want to consider getting a filter for your waterline. It may be caused by the lime scale buildup on the heating element in the bottom. There is also some product that you can use once a month to help clean the washer. I would suggest using it also. The product is made by jet-dry. I don't remember what the name is, but I know it is made by jet dry.
maytag is a good brand, but if the problem is in your water it won't matter what type of dishwasher you get.
