Look at some of these videos... Apparently some of these dogs aren't normal, but what's with the tongues hanging out? Why and how do they stay like that? Wouldn't the tongue get extremely dried out? Does anybody know what's going on with that?

Their tongues are hanging out because they are missing teeth. Their teeth are gone so there is nothing to hold the tongue in the mouth.

Well they are a genetic deformity a dog like that never would have been made by nature. People Breed dogs for certain looks they take a genetic defect and breed it into what they want. The dogs mouth is not big enough they lose teeth because of this so the tongue hangs out. I know a pug whose tongue does not stay in her mouth. They are freaks not that there is anything wrong with that but they are a dog created by humans. With the only purpose to look funny.

I didn't see the exact pictures you were looking at....
I can tell you that the flatter faced breeds often have tongues that are longer than their snouts. It is common. The end of their tongue hangs out. Another common thing is for hairless dogs to have tongues that hang out. In both cases, some do, some don't. It's not a total breed or even a total family that does it.

The pictures are of teh different types of Chinese Cresteds and Mexican hairless.
A lot of these dogs loose their teth at a very young age and with no teeth their tongues hang out.
They do dry and either they moisten them when they drink or you can moisen it with a cool moist cloth.
MY sister knew someone who bred them.

It happens when the tongue is longer than the snout. The dogs actually dont seem to notice.
My bichon was like that as a puppy (kind of an awkward stage til he snout grew more) she had do idea. We used to grab her tongue to mess with her as a game and it would confuse her, she thought her tongue was in her mouth.

It's really not that big of a deal, the dogs tounge is just bigger than there mouth therefore it hangs out and it does get dried out sometimes but when they drink water they drool and the mousture goes back into the the tounge.
