I was asking a sincere question. And I don't appericate being called an evolutionest. I believe completly in God and his creation. The Bible tells of the very begining of time so as far as I'm concerned history is recorded back to the beginning. Maybe I didn't word it right I'm not a genious but I didn't deserve the insulting answers that most of you people summited.

If you are asking what the Bible has to day about dinosaurs, the answer is quite a bit.

The word "dinosaur" was not created until the late 1800s. Before that, they were called "dragons". You will find over 30 references to them in scripture.

Many of the references refer to them as being found only in dead and desolate places, and seem to refer to the finding of fossils and bones (as still happens today). So the Bible people were aware that dinosaurs once existed.

There are some other references that imply that dinosaurs were still in existence. Job speaks of two (one land and one water) that sound very much like what we would think of as "dinosaurs" today. Whether they were any still living at the time is debatable. In Job, it is talking about how powerful those creatures were, and that man could not tame them. It is possible that they "reconstructed" the animals as we do today from bones, and then used them in these poetic analogies, as we might ask if someone was strong enough to tame a T-Rex. We would not mean by that that T-Rexs still existed.

When did the dinosaur live? Before the time when the main storyline of the Bible begins (around 1800 BC). It appears from scripture that they were the victim of global disaster. This many have been the one that including Noah's flooding - or something earlier. They may have also been part of a pre-Adam world that may have existed between Genesis 1 verses 1 and 2. But the scriptures are not clear on that issue.

The main purpose of the Bible is to answer questions about the nature of God and how to relate to him. It is not intended to be a text on either science or history. (But then they are mentioned in the book, the details are accurate). The details about dinosaurs really has no important in the questions about God or salvation. So the Bible does not spend a lot of time on the them. (The Bible already runs nearly the length of all seven Harry Potter books. Did you really want more on unimportant things?)

I don't get the question.

Time isn't recorded back to the very beginning. The Bible and the Torah contain books written at around 1200 B.C.E. at the earliest. These books contain the oral history known to the Israelites up to that point, as well as more current events. There is was history written down during the Bronze Age by the Sumerians, but this doesn't date back to the supposed beginning of time.

Most scientists take prehistoric to mean "before men built societies," which means everything from billions of years ago to about 4000 B.C.E. It's generally accepted that most dinosaurs died out in a mass extinction 65 million years ago, long before people were recording history (or even existing).

Dinosaurs existed mainly before Noah's Flood. Most died during the flood, and those that were on the ark, didn't grow as big as they did before the flood because of the change in the climate. There are some still around, but very few.

Geez why can't some of you just answer the question? If you don't know then say so. So what if she may have worded her question wrong. It is not a rude question, it is simply a question. Tactics like that are part of the reason why people can't stand atheists. Hopefully a few people will answer you respectfully.

Edit: Don't get pissed Aunt Doobie. Remember that there is a purpose for everything that an atheist does. I guess that one must be a rational and logical person to understand the purpose of rudeness.

Ever heard of the Gap Theory?
There IS a big gap between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2
There is a vast period of time that is not covered and we do not know how long it was. That explains the time not covered in the 6 days of creation, as it were. And why the earth is more than 6000 years old etc.
That period of time covers the dinosaurs.

Dinosaurs were created when all the other animals were created by God. They existed along with other animals, and man. Read Job 40 and 41.

you are thinking in an evolutionists point of view.
how do you know dinosaurs existed before humans? there have been pottery made by humans who lived thousands of years ago who had no technology. and on those potteries, there were carving of strange dragon and dinosaur creatures. if dinosaurs died out before the humans came, how did people back then know what one looked like?

in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth and everything in it in one week. including dinosaurs. humans and dinosaurs lived together. 6000 yrs ago. they were taken into Noah's ark about 4400 yrs ago. why did they die out? well probably because of humans. humans hunted them and ate then for dinner or lunch. and dinosaurs became extinct. there are so many dinosaur fossils that still are in the shape of the dinosaur because the great flood buried them all (except for 2 of them).

Your logic fails in your statement that "time is recorded back to the very beginning". Recorded history began sometime during 4th millennium BCE with the invention of writing.

Therefore, your answer is any time before then, smartypants :D

huh? your question is a paradox. dinosaurs died 65 million yrs ago. the first life was bacteria like organisms that lived in the cambrian era i think. that was about 5 billion yrs ago. i could be off though. havent researched this in a while.

Where did you hear time is recorded back to the beginning? Scientists only give a rough estimate at how old they think the universe is. They really don't know.
