Let's say there is no dispute that it is THE one and only god, and for arguments sake, let's say the religion god endorses is Hinduism.
Would you have the humility to abandon everything you've believed all your life, apologize to all the Hindus you've offended, and dutifully switch to Hinduism?
How about Islam?
Buddhism?
Shinto?
Sun worship?
At some point, don't you scratch your head and think, "billions of people don't agree with my beliefs... maybe there's something I'm missing?"

didjlord,
I point to Christians because they are disproportionately represented here, and they tend to be more arrogant in their belief that they must "convert" the world.

Note the arrogance in these answers. Nobody responds with "yes" or "no." Only reasons why I am wrong.

Sheep tend to be easy to herd, so I'm guessing... YES.
Think about it.

Every reasonable person would choose to follow the same god if that god presented an overwhelming amount of evidence that it was true or if that god presented even a single irrefutable piece of evidence that it was indeed God, omnipresent.
The trouble is that NONE of the religions or their gods have done so except for atheism. Ignoring the fact that atheism is not a religion at all but is only a loosely gathered collection of subscribers to the obvious truth that there is no God - no all powerful creator / protector / provider being - but that it is only in atheism that real any evidence is readily available on a moment to moment basis. That evidence is observable as absenteeism - it is a true negative. By NOT having ever-present evidence of "a something" expected or assumed, therein and of itself is the evidence of that "something" not being.

Absolutely! If there was no doubt, why wouldn't I?
Frankly, Hindu's have more fun (in thier worship), Buddhist's tend to be more peaceful, and I greatly respect the Muslim devotion to prayer.
Of course, I see beauty in all Religions....
I guess the more interesting question would be, what if God said that all religions were right....just different ways to communicate his message to different people.

Actually, that day has been here since the New Testament. G-D never said the ways of the church were to worship on Sunday, to celebrate Christmas and Easter. Jesus said clearly that He had come not to abolish, but to fulfill the Law or the Prophets, in other words the Tenakh, the Old Testament.
It was never G-D who changed the Book, it was man who, in his anti-semitism, moved the day of worship from the 7th day to the 1st (there is no 8th day in a 7-day week).
It was man who moved the Passover to a holiday worshipping a pagan god, who says one covenant replaces another...not G-D, not the Messiah.
I am a Messianic Jew, one who believes that the Books are both very clear to those who read with an open mind that the Gentile, the Greek, of Biblical days and the Jews are one...that the Pharisees and Sadducees are two-thirds, but the Prophets, the ones whose words Jesus said He would not abolish, stated clearly in the Old Testament that one third of the chosen people would remain, and the covenant would be everlasting...
The rabbinic Jew, in the New testament called the Pharisee, and among those who were called Levites in the Old Testament, interpreted G-D's word to fit them.
The church founders, the Catholic church and those who formed their own denomination in Protest, created their own laws based on their own interpretations.
It has always been in the book--both volumes-and yet I didn't see it for over 50 years because I was blindly following my spiritual leaders. Finally, I questioned, and looked for myself. I now believe in both books being of the Jewish faith because it is written as such...of those who are born unto the faith and those grafted unto it, and a new covenant is created where all are Believers, where being a true Jew and completed Jew is being a Christian.
All I can do is pray for people to see the Truth....to look at the Book for themselves. As for the multitudes who do not know, and who do not believe, that is also covered in the Bible. I won't judge them, I just know what I believe, and it is based on G-D's word in my mind, and my heart.

if God told me to convert to Buddhism because it was the truth, i'd think that God didn't know anything about Buddhism(Buddhism is agnostic, therefore if it was true God wouldn't talk to me).
If THE one and only God told me shinto was the truth, i'd ask which of the two main gods of shinto are the true one.
to answer your question, yes, except i haven't offended hindus (unless asking about beliefs is offensive)
but i'd ask about Jesus and why that's wrong, etc.

I really hope it's Zeus. I would totally stop what I'm doing and get into some Greek God woship. Oooo maybe he would be appearing to put me on a quest of some sort. One man, empowered by the gods, to defeat sources of evil, and restore justice to the world. Very Clash of the Titansesque!

First off, religion is man made, not god made. God is. There is no "religion", only GOD. Anything that is not in agreement with the eternity of our Creator, the self evident "be" of his being is nonsense. If you accept that GOD "is", everything else pales. Once you have accepted that whether or not you believe in him or the dogma about him by man, HE still is, your question will seem ridiculous even to you.

The true church are those that worship in truth in spirit....not a church that was built with hands......he seeks out the reigns of our hearts.

first of all my intention is not to offend anyone- however one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Just because billions of people do not believe the same way I do does not make me wrong- Jesus himself said, the way is narrow that leads to eternal life. God will never appear and contradict Himself- Jesus died so that we could know the truth- with grace I plan to live my whole life proclaiming that- just like you and others proclaim that we could be wrong- what if we aren't? How will you respond?- if I am wrong, then I just lived this life believing- is that so bad?
