There's really no justification for that. I have morals. Are you saying my morals are wrong?

Without a solid foundation like the bible, morals are relative to the individual unless that individual agrees with the morals established by society but that would be making one's self a slave to society.

Even murder is justified by a murderer sometimes, what kind of a moral do you call that?

Moral values must have a foundation, i.e. a moral authority behind them. If you have the right to make up your own morals, how can they ever be wrong? Unless you're an idiot, how can you lose in a game where you make the rules and you judge yourself?

Morality must include the acknowledgment of a higher authority just as when we play a real game of some sort, we put ourselves under the authority of umpires/referees/judges.

It's a totally incorrect assumption that atheists have no morals.

However.... *plays devil's advocate*

People may say you have no morals because atheism by definition has no holy text or spiritual leaders and therefore no uniform or intrinsic moral code. The morals of atheists are self-defined and very from person to person, both in their nature and their very existence.

I find "Moragnie.." answer amusing for the very fact that I know A LOT of Christians that can't or don't follow what she stated as "moral".

A person reading a book, or going to a church doesn't make them moral. Their kind/generous interactions with other humans/creatures is what defines morality in my book.

People assume that just because someones morals are different or some things are more or less important than others that they're nonexistant. Like Christianity does to other religions.

Maybe you need morals like the Bible god had. He told the Hebrew folk to "borrow" clothing and valuables from the Egyptians just before leaving, saying "You will find favor in the sight of the Egyptians" meaning they could use deceit to get the stuff.

If you don't have morals like he had...

I'm with you all the way.
I have no need for an imaginary friend in the sky to cause me to live a civilised life.
My morals are those taught to me by atheist parents.
The best method.

I'm sure you have morals, but the question is, are you living up to God's standards for a human being?

That means no lying, no stealing, no hating people in your heart, no lusting after people you aren't married to, no coveting other people's stuff/relationships/successes. That means helping people and putting the needs of others ahead of your own needs.

Aside from that are you living up to your own standards?

They are just uneducated.

Is bigotry living up to god's standards?

People say that because they have no belief in God.
