We were discussing religions and their prayers, and what they pray for, and I speculated about the efficacy of amputees' prayers in christian religions, and somebody informed me, rather assertively that "Jesus doesn't do new legs." Saying the best you can hope for to pray for a prosthetic leg --
This started a heated debate, and I was wondering if any of you church folks would settle this for us:
Does Jesus do new legs or doesn't he?

I DIDN'T ASK WHETHER AN AMPUTEE WOULD GET A NEW LEG IN HEAVEN. THAT WASN'T THE ARGUMENT.

No clear and undisputable miracles are allowed. Everything must be ambiguous. That's the lesser known 11th commandment.

Where does it say that God or Jesus will give you a new leg? I don't understand why someone would think an amputee would pray for a new leg. Having lost a limb doesn't make you less of a woman nor a man. Jesus will give you the knowledge that you are still you without your leg and you can still lead a productive life without too. Jesus will give you the knowledge that your life doesn't revolve around the absence of some bones and flesh. No he doesn't do new legs, nor does science do new legs.
However science will give you some pills when you can't deal over the fact that you lost a leg. Jesus will help you deal with the lost and lead a normal life without pills, by using reason.
Edit: No, you were asking if someone prayed would they get a new leg when they woke up the next morning. I got it, I think most people got it too. The ones who didn't are probably pulling your leg (no pun intended).

He dpes the most impossible things.
If you pray
2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
James 5:16
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Jesus could give someone new legs if he so wished. But I doubt he would have ever let that person lose his or her leg in the first place if it was that important. Some trials are given for our benefit.

As soon as you walk thru the pearly gates you will immediately get your new limb. Now there have been occurrences on the earth where people limbs grew out at healing crusades. Look to Oral Roberts Ministries, T.L. Osborne, John G. Lake Ministries but your a skeptic so you will never be convinced of healings!

The prayer should be that the person can walk again.
We can know that this is consistant with G*Ds will.
It isn't up to us to tell G*D how to answer our prayer, or when.
It isn't inconceivable that one day scientists will grow organs.
The Creator has given us minds to understand our bodies.

Miracles in the Bible primarily authenticated the reliability of the preached word of God. Miracles are not carnival sideshows.
