Its a long weekend and we have more time to travel to be with family and friends.

Lots of retired folks are home for Thankgiving and then leave to spend the rest of the winter in Florida the next week.

*sigh* I have several strong opinions about Thanksgiving, however I'd probably offend a few people by stating them. For me, it's more of a commemoration of the Natives who the early Puritan pilgrims stabbed in the back.

Luckily, my religion has two thanksgiving harvest holidays in the late summer/early fall.

Yeah, belly aches from over-eating, family fights, all those dirty dishes. Not MY favorite holiday. I like Memorial Day - spring is here, summer on the way - all those flowers. Now THAT's a holiday.

Food, food and more food. Of course friends and fun. I have cooked thanks given dinner for 10+ years. This year i will again cook dinner even though my arthritis has gotten very bad. I have invited a homeless couple to join me and my lady friend this year. Should be a good day.
