This is just a quote from the Talmud that I thought others may enjoy...

"Woman was created from the rib of man.
She was not made from a part of his head to top him,
nor was she made from his feet to be trampled on.
She was created out of his side to equal him,
under his arm to be protected by him
and near his heart to be loved."

FOR THOSE WHO MISTREAT WOMEN

Prophet Mohammad said woman was originally made out of rib. So she is hard to be straightened if she is crooked meaning sturbborn. If you tried to straighten her, she will break but will not become straight as you wish. So try to understand her personality and be kind to her.

Yes, you are missing parts. As soon as God made Adam, God took a rib from Adam to make Eve. So she is an equal. I'm not sure what religious book you're reading but, something is not gelling. The creation story is equal and all is well. Eve did get reprimanded for eating the forbidden fruit but, thank goodness the punishment was due able and women give birth really well, no big deal. If the whole creation story is bothering you so much, take it up with God.

Well yeah, we were created to be a mans' help meet. Tell Hillary this, she needs it. But, I like the quote.

Even though I don't believe in any of the creation story, this is actually kind of cute...other than the blatant sexism contained in it. I don't need a man to protect me...I need willpower and a can of mace.

I like it. I've actually been taught that, as a Christian. And to those girls who'd rather defend themselves, I love how safe I feel with my man who loves to protect me. I don't just feel like I won't be hurt, I feel safe and secure.

That's interesting. I wish more religious people would think like this.
