My husband and I have a 2 year old boy and a 4 year old girl. I am pregnant with our third and last child. Right now, they each have their own room...we are planning to have the baby in a bassinet in our bedroom until it is too big (not sure of the sex yet). Do you think it is wrong for us to put our 2 and 4 year old in the same room using bunkbeds, and let the baby have its own room until he/she sleeps through the night and can share a room with our son/daughter?

I don't see a problem with it at this age, although since your daughter will be starting school soon, you do need to teach her modesty...no changing in front of her brother. The other thing I would suggest is moving them in together BEFORE the baby comes, so no one feels like the baby is stealing their room.

No problem, but bunkbeds are to be avoid until the child is at least 6 years old

There are a lot of serious accidents (from breaking a bone to celebral comotion) related to bunkbeds at an inappropriate age.

If you dont have the space, you might want ot use 2 transition beds or 1 bed (with a drawer that can hold a matress, you have those at IKEA)

I don't think there's anything wrong with them sharing a room for a few years at least. I would however, be hesitant about putting a 4 year old in a bunk bed. Maybe it's just because I can totally see my 4 year old son jumping and doing tricks off of it, but I guess girls are a bit different!

I know someone who put her 2-year-old boy and 4-year-old girl together after her third child was born and they shared a room for two years. They were perfectly well-adjusted, got along fine, and all that. I think sharing a room is fine at this age. Best of luck with everything!

I personally would not do it because my oldest is four and he has shown some interest in the differences of sexes. But if you feel that your children can share without you having to worry then go for it. Yo may just keep an eye out due to the age of the oldest one...Every child is defferent and go through this at different ages..Good luck and congrats on the expected bundle!

It's not illegal, his children have always shared a bedroom. Before it was bunk beds, and babytard had her own little crib thing. The kids are all sharing a bed for now,but they are going to sort it out soon enough.

not wrong as they as still young yet but when they start getting a bit older i would advise putting the two same sex children together more for your daughters sake than anything else i really think females need more privacy than males

good luck on your pregnancy

I think it's a good idea...should be fine...boys and girls are ok to sleep in the same room for a few years =)

I strongly second the advice on moving them in together before baby comes.

I don't think there is anything wrong with that for a couple years.
